Foul by Clemons - Was it?

As far as refereeing, calls were too quick. The one that got me madder was at the end of regulation with Jok shooting two, the refs looked like they were icing Jok on his second shot by checking time between free throws. Jok made the first and I think would have made the second. Time remaining could have been checked before in-bounding.

however... let me add that never in 25-30 years of watching basketball have I seen the ref's call a push off on a tip in the closing seconds.

Absolutely a foul. He made contact. On a shot. Foul. 3 FTs. Dumb.

Our seniors sure dont play like seniors sometimes.

It was a stupid play, foul of no foul, by Clemmons. He is damn lucky it worked out in our favor in the end.

There was nobody happier than Clemmons when Woodbury tipped the last shot in. Woodbury probably could of just as easily been called for a push off that would of cost Iowa the game.

25-30 years isn't quite long enough. The old-timers on this site can tell you about Jim Bain and his rebounding foul call at the end of a Purdue game in the Lute Olsen era afterwhich Lute said "Jim Bain should be hung". Lute got in a little trouble over that statement.

-------No. But why for god's sake did they even let him get a shot off? I don't understand why no coach ever wants to foul before any shot is possible with a 3 point lead with less than 10 seconds left. I see it all the time.

^^^^^^^
Thank you!

funny part of the clemmons foul - when jok was taking his free throw - the camera was such that you could see clem behind jok - and he was telling a team mate - 'don't foul'..........

Are you talking about the 4th foul called on DeCosey that sent JU to the line in OT? I thought the same thing. It really was an iffy call and an example of what I mean by a horribly officiated game. But...I haven't seen a team (Temple) throw up so many bricks that bounced around and went it, ever. Temple really was fortunate to be as close as they were.

Me either. Makes me wonder if they have to paint the rims at Liacouras Center once a week.

Well, if you remember (or not), Bain made that call on Kevin Boyle for under the basket contact. The only problem was that Boyle hadn't even crossed half court.
