Forty years ago today Purdue’s Rick Mount scored a conference-record 61 points for the Boilermakers, but it was the Hawkeyes who clinched a Big Ten championship with a 108-107 victory at Mackey Arena.

Damn that makes me feel old. I remember listening to that game on the old transistor radio with my Dad in our kitchen.

That was a great time for BB in the state of Iowa. Ralph Miller and Maury John (Drake) helped us get through those cold winter months.
