I think TX is a tougher place to recruit now then it could ever be. Between not just Texas but all the other Texas schools the good kids down there have a ton of options. Then if they are the tweeners that do slip thru the cracks they have the SEC schools and AZ schools and USCs after them. It's tough to get them to come up to Iowa. If a TX wants to stay even semi close to home it's tough to pry a kid out of there now.
 
Totally agree with the comment about Gazette bloggers. Those guys are great. I think Morehouse could start his own site and succeed with it much like Jon has. He seems to have the best inside connections and gets a lot of interviews that most guys can't get. They always have info. posted as quick as possible. If you are a Hawk fan and you haven't checked out his blog I recommend you do. You won't regret it.

Yet we seem to do it out of Florida fairly regularly too. It just really depends on where your contacts are embedded. I'm sure we will open some doors out of Texas that were not available before, landing 1 or 2 each year. But no, not like opening a main pipeline of them.

As for the pic above, I thought it was a good reference of leading us on a path back to the "Rose Bowl".
 
Greg will just be a "caretaker" until Brian has enough time in to be considered a respectable candidate for the job. KF is moving coaches around like deck chairs on the Titanic in order to get Brian the job someday.

Sheesh, another guy who's seen the Zapruder film.

I'd maybe buy the caretaker thing if the guy was say, 73, but that ship seems to have sailed back to Indianapolis.
 
If it is Davis is a great spot for him. It's like dating the girl that had the horrible boyfriend or husband it's very easy to look good. Following kok it will be very easy to look good. Davis will run a flea flicker or a half back pass for a td and they will wan to put a statue of him out front of kinnick.
