Former Hawkeye Hate

The old "stuck up" criticism. Why does everybody think people should drop what they are doing at the whim of every fan that walks by? I'm sure the novelty of signing autographs wears out after a few thousand requests...

I'm not crazy about Pierre Pierce or any of City Boyz Inc.
Greg Helmers always kind of irked me too.
I didn't love John Beujter, I always found the Ryan Driscoll story about being afraid of the kid he drove on the hood of his car a little shaky.
I think Ronny Harmon threw the Rose Bowl to pay off a personnel debt and I think that Gordy Bohanon is a complete puke.
Am I a bad Hawkeye fan?

I think with the exception of Bielema I don't see a lot of hate toward former Hawkeyes. I think part of the underlying anger is to see "one of our own" move on to another program and be successful. Plus, Bielema is in our conference and he has shown success against us.

I don't have a problem with Bielema ... He has done a nice job and he has paid his dues. Some people were not enamored with Mike Stoops at Arizona but how quickly the tide changes when his name came up in discussions to possibly be a candidate for the D-coordinator position. I think it is human nature ... Me personally, I like to see any former Hawk enjoy positive experiences and success in the coaching ranks ...

I don't get it. What gives? These guys laid it out on the line and bled black and gold yet we trash them when they are succesfull elsewhere. I think that is pretty crappy.

ditto. Tons of former Hawks get props at other schools from Hawk fans. Just not when they are rival coaches.

Phil Seuss was overrated.
 
For what Bielema did as a senior when he greeted the ISU coach, he is forever awesome. He got a great job as an ast. coach at Wisky and then was tabbed to be HC. What's he supposed to do? Turn it down on principle and hope for something else? Some of you are just childish. I wish we would've had, say, an OC position available for him but it just didn't work out. At the end of the day, coaching football is a precarious employment field. Ask anyone who has family members in the biz. You want the best possible job and you are grateful to have one when the HC you work for gets the ax.

The only two former Hawks I can say I really hate are Pierre Pierce and Steve Alford. Bielema is kind of a sleazy recruiter but I hope the best for him when he's not playing Iowa. The 'City Boyz' were disgusting but were all gone before having any real impact so **** on em. Most players that transfer I forget about by the time they're playing again so yea - Pierce and Alford is it for me, and there's really no need to explain that hatred.
