A former University of Iowa wide receiver was arrested early Wednesday* morning on suspicion of drunken driving after he told police, “They wouldn’t last a (expletive) minute in Kinnick Stadium,†a criminal complaint states.
Paul Allen Chaney, 24, of Iowa City, was stopped for running a red light at 1:39 a.m. near the intersection of Clinton and Burlington streets, according to a criminal complaint. Chaney told the UI police officer who stopped him that he had consumed a few drinks but was “not that drunk,†according to the report.
