Forget the Hate; Why ISU's Loss Might Help Iowa

ISU was in Iowa's bracket. They have a great team. Now they are out of the tournament after a huge, unexpected upset. Dreaming big, doesn't this improve Iowa's chances of making the Elite 8?

I will be happy with one win and then go from there. Iowa/Davidson is a total toss up game.

How anyone can be thinking elite 8 yet is beyond me.

If 2 14 seeds can take down 3 seeds.... no reason a 7 seed can't beat a 2!!!

And UCLA is giving SMU all they want.... This has been a crazy/great start to the tournament!!

And that's why we love (or hate) the tournament....big upsets, close games, crying cheerleaders, what the hell more do ya need? Right?

Exactly the point I'm trying to make. I know I'm getting way ahead of it (Davidson is very good), but why not dream big?

I am big time looking forward to the elite 8 game. Might not have the chance tomorrow night so just as well do it now.

I find my self always rooting for the underdog even if it ruins my bracket. Other than the Zona game it looks like we're about to get another set of good finishes coming up.

No, it's not. Iowa is a very good team in a tough conference. The only way this is a toss up game is if we play like total dog crap and they shoot lights out. There is a 3% chance of that happening. I get that in the tourney anyone can win any given game, but I categorically refuse to believe that Iowa is a toss up game with Davidson. It just isn't.

Exactly. Duke lost early in Iowa's bracket last year, but Iowa failed to get out of the First Four, so it was moot point. Beat Davidson, then beat Gonzaga, then yes - this COULD benefit Iowa.

Since the Iowa-ISU Sweet 16 is gone I guess my sights have moved to the Final Four vs. UNI
