For those who have been to several college stadiums...

How would you rank kinnick? I've only been going to all home games for the last 4 years and the only other stadium i've visited is Jack Trice. I've always heard we rank up there with the best of them as a fanbase. So what is your (unbiased:)) opinion of the atmosphere at Kinnick? From tailgating to pre-game to the HMB. Also I've heard Kinnick used to be louder around 2004. For those who have been going for a while, is that true?

I've heard a bunch of negative stuff about Wisky but every time I have been there it has been great. Good fans, good food, good beer. Camp Randall is kind of a dump though. MSU was awesome. Mich fans are D**k's. Neb last year was ok but tailgating sucks.

ive been to metrodome kinnick camp randal and halfprice stadium. kinnick is definitely better then metrodome but camp randal is an experience. i hate to say it but halfprice stadium really does get loud and hold the sound in better its just that they have pansy fans who cant make noise lol. i wish we had that stadium because it would be so loud
I'll take Kinnick over Jack Three Times any day.

I had a huge post written rating the stadiums I had visited in the past and then before I hit "post" i reread the OP and he was asking for a rating of Kinnick, not the other stadiums...

Half Price field is a glorified Texas high school stadium.

Now, moving on...

Notre Dame stadium is pretty damn cool. They seamlessly built a bowl on top of the original bowl (which is a smaller scale Michigan stadium design.) It's really pretty impressive architecture. Fairly easy to get around. You take the stairs up to the bowl, you enter from ground level for the original stadium.

Memorial stadium in Lincoln is impressive but ridiculously difficult to get around. You can't walk around the perimeter inside the gates so if you enter through the wrong gate you're SOL.

Camp Randall is adequate but weird. Just a weird configuration. Pretty impressive skyboxes though.

Kinnick's easily the most seat-accessible stadium I've been to, in that you can go in any gate and easily get to your seats.

Meatchicken stadium is...vast.

I'd rate Kinnick as top notch in everything but tailgating but that's basically a personal preference thing. I like big heaps of people together in one huge party.

Overall the only stadium I've been to that I would rank better as a total experience is Oklahoma. Very unique place - unbelievably awesome stadium, the boomer sooner thing is very cool, and the stadium is dead center in the middle of the campus, so you're walking through the campus to get there. Cool experience and the fans are ridiculous but awesome.

I've been to over half of the B1G stadiums and Kinnick is definitely towards the top. Michigan, after's its renovations was pretty sweet.

Honestly, all these college stadiums are really old and for the most part really don't differentiated from each other.

illannoy = dump, no energy
northwetstain = dump, students are pathetic, no energy

only collegiate stadium/gameday experience I've been around that comes close to Kinnick/IC is *ugh* pedo state. I was there in '09 and it was legit, even though the weather sucked and it's bumfukk pennsylvania.

i hate to say it but the jumbotron is pretty sweet i wish we had something like it here. honestly it probably helped them steal the game last year since its got to be distracting for the team thats looking in its direction

Hahaha very funny clown.

NW - dump
Illanoy - dump
JTrice - dump
Metrodome - dump
Camp Randall - not bad; great atmosphere and fans
Meeeeechigan - large; lame atmosphere; was treated well by their fans
Nebby - nice stadium; tailgating sucks

I don't go to a football game to watch TV

Offshoot from this question. Which stadium offers the best seating for visiting fans? I seen Michigan State as well as Nebraska have the visitors way up in the nosebleeds. Kinnick seats the visiting fans close to the field (section 113?), just off towards the corner.

Kinnick is upper-tier in my estimation. I'd put it behind PSU and Michigan (both of which I've been to) and OSU (which I've not). I'd put it right in with Wisconsin (which I've been to). Wisconsin has better fan support in the stadium, but the structures are very similar. I'd put it ahead of Nebraska which looks nice from the outside, but is a total chit-show to get around inside. All other B1G stadiums are worse from my experience.

I've been to almost all the B1G stadium. I watched UCLA play Oregon at the Rose Bowl. I've seen Missouri-Kansas, both in Columbia and Lawrence, before they moved the game to Arrowhead.

Kinnick is a decent stadium, and has a great energy on game day.

Wisconsin, tOSU and Michigan are all places that need to be experienced.

I have no idea what Half Price Stadium is? could someone help me on this please?

compared to ACC stadiums-
Duke - would rather go watch UNI - more fans there - tiny and small
NC State- Carter FInley - pretty good - a hair smaller than Kinnick - fans get into it - and tailgaiting there rocks (except for that little double murder we had)
UNC- stadium OK - tailgaiting sucks and fans are truly the pathetic wine and cheese crowd.
