For those that hate Nebraska

If the Hawks win out, they are in the championship game. If they don't win out, they don't deserve to be in the championship game. I cheer for the Hawkeyes and only the Hawkeyes (except during bowl games, I am a B1G fan unless Nebby is playing).
 
Well, I wont be rooting for Nebby (but I wont be rooting for MSU either). I know a MSU loss would help the Hawks the most, but it is time for the Hawks to help themselves. Take care of one game at a time and let the cards fall where they will.
Reason I cant root for Nebby, putting all fandom and or hate aside, is I would rather the best team go to Indy and represent and that team is not Nebraska. They need some crappy bowl so they can win and add to the W side of things for the B10. Look, their big claim to fame besides Wisky was Wash, who was over ranked and it showed against Stanford. Other than that Nebby has beat MN and an incomplete and qb injured, down OSU and barely at that. So excuse me if I dont want Nebby representing the B10 with any major competition.
Maybe if we win out, someone else can pull an upset over MSU. Those things do happen.
 
for anything to benefit the hawks, the hawks would need to win out. if we don't, but win all but lose to neb, neb would have to have a third big ten loss, before we would go over them, and msu would still need a second B1G ten loss besides to iowa. not much there to stop Sparty. They would go.
If iowa were to win all but to msu, msu would still go without that second loss.
Iowa needs to run table or needs help. As hard as it may be for some, myself included, we need to hope nebby beats sparty, but then in fact loses to someone else in either case. Also, if we win both of those, but lose to mishitigan, sparty still needs a second loss, nebby doesn't.
 
For the love of....I cannot, cannot, cannot root for Nebby. I already have a ton of family who are talking smack about Iowa/Nebraska. If we lose to them, I'm going on vacation for a year (or at the very least, avoiding any and all family gatherings until we play again).

A very real scenario for the Hawks path to Indy.

MSU: at Neb- loss,Minny -win, at Iowa -loss, IU-win NW- win.....record 6-2.
Neb: Neb- win, NW -win,at PSU-loss,at Mich- loss,Iowa-win....record 5-3
Mich: PU- win,at Iowa-loss, at Ill.- win,Neb-win,OSU- win....record 6-2
Iowa: at Minn-win,Mich-win,MSU-win,at PU-win,at Neb-loss..record 6-2

Iowa wins the tiebreak and goes to Indy,and they will certainly have earned it. Some fans on here are saying if they do not win out,they do not deserve to go to Indy? Are you nuts?

Simply put,we need MSU to lose this weekend to have a realistic chance to win the Big Ten...is that worth setting aside hatred for Neb? What comes first,Iowa winning the league,or Neb losing it?
 
Most are predicting mediocrity, and I'm expecting someone to chime in with a negative statement about our team and how we will only win one more game this year, and I won't argue, in light of this defense. BUT, just looking at what chance we could have at a special season (meaning to me playing for the B1G Championship)...We can lose one more and still win the division, but, as pointed out by some others, we would need help to do that. That is, except MSU, which was my point before. We can lose to anyone else but MSU and still have a realistic shot (albeit only a shot), at winning the division. There is no way MSU ends up with three conference loses with the schedule they have here on out. We can lose to either Mich or Neb, as long as the one of them that beats us ends up with three conference loses (which is very possible with their schedules going forward). Obviously, this is assuming we beat Minn and then win 3 of our last 4 (tough) games, one win of which must be MSU. There is a path here for us. The MSU game is THE GAME of the season. A "must-win" in the strictest sense of that phrase. If that happens (in Kinnick), we have a very real shot, IMHO.
 
The last thing any of us should want is to see Nebraska come into the Big Ten and win the Legends division in the first year. Pin another loss on their arses, Go Sparty!

Iowa controls their own destiny and I honestly do not see it happening for Iowa this year, not with this defense.

So who would you rather see win the legends, Nebraska or MSU?
