For anyone that will be outside today.

Just a heads up for anyone that will be out and about tomorrow, I know this is another weather thread but this needs to be addressed:

The National weather service and the Storm Prediction center have issued a slight risk for severe weather for the entire state of Iowa for today.

There is a risk for Tornados, need I remind all of you that not to long ago a tornado passed within one mile of Jack trice. Conditions will also be favorable for large hail and damaging winds.

With the Kick-off set for 2:30 the game will run during the prime time for super cell thunderstorms if they occur today, Thunderstorms in general are likely today, so lightening will be an issue for todays game.

I encourage everyone to have a little plan as to what they would do should either a Tornado or severe thunderstorm warning be issued for Johnson county before, during or after the game.

Latest forecast issued a few minutes ago has winds out of the south at 15 with gusts to 25 or higher.....could definately effect the kicking game at least.

Iowa likes to throw a lot longer than Wisky. This could be a problem. Ricky's nightmare last year against Indiana had a lot to do with the long ball hanging in the wind.

Does anyone know when the chance for any lightening or storms are? Wondering if predicted prior to or after kick-off. KWWL this morning had the Iowa game as partly sunny but had the UNI game (in Cedar Falls) as having storms/rain. So, wondering if a front will be moving thru this afternoon.

High winds are our worst nightmare. Wisky will run the ball no matter what, but Iowa's offense will be severely cramped by winds that shut down the passing game.

Rain we can deal with, winds? No. This blows...literally.

It looks like it will be clear for the game. The storms are suppose to start around 6 tonight and if they are here sooner the 4th quarter could be wet.

Just messing with ya. Whats the wind like now in IC. A little windy here in DSM but not too bad.

Updated with new info after Noon SPC Update:

Due to the current sunlight we are currently building a very unstable atmosphere for this time of year, due to this there has been some changes in the forecast for today:

Hail risk has been raised to 30%

Tornado and wind risk remains unchanged at 5% and 15% respectably.

Currently not bad, although It will be getting windier as the day goes on as low pressure gets closer to the state. Winds were gusting to 21 mph an hour ago.
