For all the apathetic Iowa fans ....

G

Sounds good. Just a few things though.

1. Phil is a great guy, great DC and we are glad to have him. But do you think he would be able to guide the offense better than Kirk?

3. Keep in mind that Stoops, Riley, Herman, and Urb all make or have made way more money than Kirk, and it would take much more than that to come to Iowa.

4. Kevin Wilson is the OC at Ohio State, and would only leave there now for a HC position. But he was a HC once, at Indiana, where threw the ball a lot, didn't play much defense but were exciting.

Hey Dirt, I didnt think you put many constraints on our choices so:

as far as #1 If Parker is HC he doesnt have to "guide the offense" because the whole premise of your post is he would hire a dynamic, maybe younger, OC with a high powered offense. HCoaches are managers, leaders, and the final say for the programs actions, during and out of games.

#3 , I am thinking what if Herman is available in 3 years because Texas fires him or what if a coach like Riley wants to get into a better conference overall than the Big 12 and he could make a statement about his coaching ability.

And Stoops might like the challenge of taking his alma mater to the promised land or even a few West Division Titles and a Big 10 Title.

#4 Just a name I threw out there who had high powered offenses at IU and knows the Big 10 landscape.

I dont think the BIG is a better conference over all then the Big12. Its different in playstyles, i think due to the players recruited and climates played in, but top to bottom?

Riley has it made in OU, 2 (probably) Heisman qbs, hands down better athletes. They are not getting rid of him.

Stoops is intriguing, but can he have as much success when his players aren't the cream of the crop.

All of you have to stop being so literal in who we posters are picking in this thread. The OP gave no constraints on who we could pick. It is la la time in who you would pick to make the hawks more exciting!!!!

That is why I am picking more up tempo type offense and more blitzing defenses.

OP did ask to keep it grounded. So im iust teying to remain semi realistic.

I agree a more uptempo offense would be very welcome. But i also dont think there has to be a massive change for that to take place.

No way would Campbell make a lateral move to Iowa .

Iowa is not in any way shape or form a lateral move from Iowa state. That is ridiculous. We have a much higher budget than Iowa st, a far superior strength coach in Doyle. Facilities aren’t even close and we play in a higher tier conference that produces greater revenue. We also produce far more NFL talent . Dumb comparison TBH.

Why do I keep seeing Lincoln Riley's name come up as an OC? I guess he's not qualified to be Iowa's next head coach?

Do not forget that these same critics want to Fire not only the football staff, but also the basketball staff, the AD, and the University President. They claim that would resolve our problems. They don’ t liken the Board of Regents or the loyal big donors, either. Lots of work ahead!
That would be a great start:)

Lol. You are so incredibly delusional. Coaches don’t leave Oklahoma or Texas to come to iowa. Lol
