Florida State reaching out to Big 10?

This may have already been posted, but I heard Chip Brown (Orangebloods) talk about this on the radio today. According to Warchant, the rivals website for FSU, the Seminoles have put out 'feelers' to the BIG. Whether this is gamesmanship or not, who knows. Of course, this being valid isn't a given. But it could be interesting to see if this move starts a bidding war for FSU between the Big 12, SEC and BIG.

FSU isn't an AAU school, but I don't know if that matters anymore.

If the Big Ten can get into Georgia (Tech) and Florida, that would be excellent.

To me based solely on the Jim Delaney's previous move (Rutgers/Maryland) was strictly to add TV sets (money for BTN), this move makes sense. Next move someone further out west? Jim Delaney wants BTN available on all markets across America. I am not saying that any of the moves he has made actually did that but that is what seems to be happening to me.

Is this where I point out the difference between Florida--the state--and the University of Florida?

All kidding aside, the BoneG needs to look south for recruiting purposes.

The bidding war for FSU would only be between the B1G and Big 12. The SEC doesn't want them, mainly Florida, just like Georgia doesn't want Georgia Tech in the SEC. It would be like the B1G adding clown country. Not going to happen. It would help with recruiting by adding a Florida and Georgia school. MSU's AD said that 16 looks and works better than 14, but said it won't happen tomorrow. It'll happen at some point, don't know who, but it'll happen. Just depends on which conference takes the next step. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the Big 12. If they sit around too long they could be in trouble of missing out. The ACC also needs to act quickly to stay ahead of the game and stay somewhat legit. We know its the B1G, SEC and PAC 12, but who will be the 4th power conference?

You'd be hard pressed to find a U outside of the SEC and PAC12 that would not be interested in the BIG.

Obviously it's the Big XII.
I know nothing about the BIg XXII financially but it seems to me that there is a whole lot of empty space without TV sets in that conference. I would be willing to say that 80% of their viewer market is south of the red river...and the further you go north the more sparse it gets. THe glaringly reality is that AMes is on a remote island...a sparsely populated island.

It could be interesting to get another ACC team especially from Florida. I will stick by what I said awhile ago and the crown jewel is still Notre Dame and any chance they get to choke off the ACC and make Notre Dame reconsider their move is a plus. Logistically it could be interesting to have two teams that far south to possibly have to travel to in the same year for football. I would not be surprised that by next football season Notre Dame will be headed to the conference and the ACC is making plans to disband.

Even if we assume this to be 100% true, it doesn't change anything. If there will be a 4th power conference, it will be the Big 12. The ACC is getting gutted if all this plays out, and the Big East isn't going to be a power conference. What else is out there that would be more powerful than the Big 12?

Florida State would be awesome. Quality football, basketball, and baseball, as well as babes and parties. B1G wins in every aspect there. Plus the whole southern recruiting thing.

I think the B1G's next move would have to be more western or southern, or southernwestern; would Arizona or Arizona State possibly be interested in joining? The appeal would be to be the only B1G school in the state, much the same as Texas A&M being drawn to the idea that they would be (and now are) the only SEC team in Texas. It makes a little sense to me. Obviously this is based on nothing and purely speculative, but which would you guys rather have?

I'd much rather have a foothold in Florida than Arizona.

LOL the B10 will never ever go after Arizona or Arizona St.

At this stage of things i thing the medicine the B12 took of granting tv rights to the B12 may have save the conference but will also prove to be the poison pill the gives the ACC schools pause. Why be locked in for 12 years in the B12 while the landscape in CFB is changing on a daily basis.

In a decade there could be three super conferences with tv networks and the rest are outside looking in.

Speaking of Florida state.... My cousin was their starting tight end on their national championship team in 99 I think it was. Walk in to starter. Wrote a book about it tilted Grateful. And yes that is a good story too bruh.
