Iowa leads the way with three protected games. IMO those games suck. Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota...hooray.

On one hand you've got three opponents that should be wins or close games, on the other hand you've got three turds on the schedule.

Would have liked to have kept one protected game - either Nebraska or Illinois

Turds lol, we have played both of these programs (WI and MN) for over 100 or close to 100 years.

WI is probably the flagship program from the B1G West Era. Iowa got exactly what it wanted here. Those are the games that should matter the most and as an IA fan for close to 40 years, they do to me. IL would have been great as well, but it doesn't hold near the weight that MN and WI do and I hate Nebraska more than anyone.

The WI/IA winner is typically in the driver seat for the West.... MN has had a lot of success with PJ but not against Iowa. Nebraska is bound to punch back eventually.

sans Nebraska, which has quickly become a huge border rival in a short time, Iowa has had these turds on the schedule since the dawn of time homey.

no annual matchup with Northwestern or Purdue, Iowa really did well here and got all the teams that matter every year.

You are an idiot. What little is left of the traditional BT is Iowa vs WI and MN. Nebr? Who cares.

Your opinion is wrong. Those 3 games mean much more to most Iowa fans than even the Iowa State game

Wowza, someone does not understand the import of rivalries to Big Ten/Iowa football. Familiarity breeds contempt. Contempt breeds passion. Passion ensures fan engagement. Pretty simple.

I thought the conference actually did something right for a change. We have three protected games against border rivals, two of which go back a century and one of which is newer, but formed in the cauldrons of HATE. They are all trophy games and they all pit fan bases that dislike each other a lot.

I was pissed when we lost the Wisky game during the Legends/Leaders era. Glad that mistake was not repeated. Bring it on Golden Rats, Cheese Brains, and Bugeaters. We shall destroy thee!!!!!!
