So it is basically the same line up as last year, but with a much worse center.
And people think we'll be much better this year because???
You really are a clueless soul aren't ya. Look....I get it. You don't understand sports. It's okay.
I'll answer your remedial question though. We are going to be better because the sophomores we have on this team was one of the most productive freshman class we've ever had at Iowa. Plus, the team as a whole is more accustomed to what this coaching staff expects. We also picked up some additions which will help us with our depth that we desperately needed. And finally, the Big Ten is not as loaded as it was last year. And not only do we have a pud non-conference schedule, but we're also one of the easiest conference schedules as well.
There ya go Ghost. I never get tired of making you look like the little ***** that you are. Now why don't you find an off topic board to frequent because you're just embarrassing yourself trying to pretend like you know anything about sports.

As difficult as it will be to pick myself up from that cyber beatdown, I do have to mention that every point you listed is a really big maybe, whereas what I listed is an absolute fact.
One of the most productive sophmore classes we've ever had? Where do you get this stuff?

I understand why one may discount the role of player development in improving the quality, ability and competitiveness of a team simply because it hasn't been a part of Iowa basketball for more than a decade. But I think it's safe to say that the hopes and expectations of most fans ride on two things:
It remains to be seen whether either of those is true. But until the season starts it's just as reasonable to believe that they will be as it is to doubt.
- The belief that coach Fran has once again made player development a focus of the program
- The idea that the additional depth on the team will enable us to have fresher legs on the court at the end of the game (something that hurt us a great deal last year)
Seems reasonable. My concerns, however, are not about player development, or the number of players we can throw out there, but the fact that we just don't have many talented players.
I love what Fran is doing, but there is only so much he can do with what he has.
Brommer is out due to a knee strain will miss the next three weeks, White will miss 2 weeks due to straining his thumb, and i disagree about the talent, Cartwright led the league in assists, we have 3 players that earned Freshman All BT team honors, w have 1 that is on the preseason 2nd TEAM all BT not too many teams can come close to that, to say this team lacks talent knows nothing about the word talent, we have 5 players that have started, 4 of which will be in the starting lineup this year,we have quality depth for the 1st time in years
Can't argue with that either. But I don't believe that what we saw last year was the ceiling for this team in Fran's system. In addition to a very real talent gap compared to some other teams in the Big Ten, there were a number of other obstacles facing this team. And year 1 in a new system certainly wasn't inconsequential.Seems reasonable.
