First Game that counts

Just wondering how many hawk fans out there are going to get out and support the team this Sunday?

I will be there picked up the weekender package a couple weeks ago. I think it important to do my part as a fan to help support the program. If we want Iowa basketball to turn around we need to support them this year win or lose.

So roll call who is in this weekend?

The tickets are only 5 bucks right?

My pro team is Dallas. Being that they are completely out of it I don't see why I wouldn't go.

I will be there with my daughter. I'm excited because this will be her first chance to see what Iowa basketball is suppose to look like(as far as tempo).

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for youth.

I will be there, I went to the exhibition on Sunday and saw how much fun this team is going to be to watch and bought the weekend package yesterday.

being in DesMoines weekends work the best. Not due to the drive, but in the winter I-80 can be the worst to drive on.

I am looking forward to the weekend package as well.

Also my team is the Bills at least the cowboys have one a game.

I will be there with 2 of my brothers. We thought it was important to show our support for the first game of Fran's career. I'm very excited to see some enthusiasm in Carver again!

We will be in Row 3, behind the basket. Wanted seats as close to the floor as we could get, but couldn't get courtside naturally :)

I'm picking up my season tickets either today or tomorrow afternoon (student), and will definitely be there! I can't believe how good it feels to actually be excited to be on my way to Carver (this will be the first time since I arrived on campus in 2008 that I'm excited to be there).

That's great to hear tm and I hope there are hundreds more students that feel the same way. It has been a huge part lacking in the Carver atmosphere the past several years.

Give me a shout before you go. I'll see if the kids want to go. Or we can take 1 and leave 1 with your wife...

I'll be in Sect N, Row 27 with my 2 sons.

I live in Sioux Falls SD, about 45 min away from Brookings SD(the campus of SDSU) They think that they can go into CHA and win. All the radio markets around this area are saying there is a better atmosphere in frost arena(SDSU Jacks arena) than in CHA. Lets change that! Im a good 6 hours away so i cant make it up there but ill definitely be watching. I wish there was a football game on the same weekend we got a bball game cause i got season tickets to hawkeye football so normally we just leave sunday after the hawkeye bball game so we can kill two birds with one stone. too bad that wont happen this year.

This is good to hear! That is the way it was in the 90s. I hope the students turn out for this team. What is the buzz you have been hearing with the students? Do you think they will turn out, maybe not this game, but this year?

I will be there with the old man section LL I believe roe 27.

I'm a sophomore and I'll be there with my three roommates. I went to a good amount of the big ten games last year so I was probably going to go to games no matter what this year, but after watching the exhibition my roommates want to go to their first games. I still don't think there's going to be a big student turnout yet, but if we keep playing well they will show up. At least students are somewhat talking about the team around campus, there definitely is more excitement this year.

student....I'll try to be there...heading back from Chicago sunday though...but I'll be there Tuesday for sure.

Anyone interested in a Roll Call Photo?

I was thinking it might be fun to try and get as many hawkeyenation regulars together for a quick group photo either before or after the game or possibly during half-time if time permits.

If anyone is interested just post here or send me a PM so I have an idea of how many and will then try to figure out the logistics.

I'm a student and I will be there as well, and of course I'm much more excited about this season than last. But I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is actual excitement about basketball around campus yet, and if anything its about how good the girls team might be. However, there is definitely optimism and people are actually willing to pay a little attention to the program. Which is a very good sign. Right now there are a lot of people interested, but we'll see how many actually show up for the team at the beginning of the season. I would guess that there should be at least a decent crowd of students for this first game though, and I've got 5 friends I'm going with me.
