Finebaum rips B10

It sure is impressive that the most profitable conference, with the best academic reputation, with the strongest bowl ties, with a tie to the strongest individual bowl (Rose Bowl), with the second best attendance, with the strongest conference network, with the most BCS bids, "struggles to remain relevant".

I should add that I like L.A.; Dothan isn't a bad town at all, and the folks are quite friendly.
One of these trips, I'm going to tack on a weekend and I'll look you up down there in PCB. Unless you fear my fervent xtianity and don't want to meet up for a few beers, that is. :p:D

Sounds like a plan...

Few beers in the bible belt.

People are going to bash the Big Ten until the Big Ten starts beating the SEC. Nobody outside of Illinois cares that Illinois beat ASU. When you get a shot to play an SEC team, especially at home, you gotta kick their azz! You cannot make excuses about players being ineligible or it is a down year, I am tired of hearing that. The Big Ten snagged Nebraska now it is time to start cleaning up these OCC games especially the Bowls.

Yep, winning talks everything else walks. We need to win games and let that do our talking. Big hasn't had the results in years. Don't know what we need to do, but time to start doing it.

The BigTen has a 95-78 overall record against the SEC, but nobody wants to talk about that. Plus, over the past 20 years I'd be willing to be that the majority of these games have been played in SEC country. Chickens won't fly north after October 1st.

That's good info. there buddy. I'll have to use that next time someone's talking SEC with me...95-78, I like it.

I have an honest question. When is the last time a B10 team played an SEC team during the regular season? It seems like it never happens.

Alabama vs. PSU a few weeks ago and last year.
I believe Northwestern beat Vandy last year.

D'oh, forgot about PSU/Bama. It'd be interesting to see how many SEC/B10 games took place over the last decade compared to other BCS inter-conference games.

Good to know that Iowa is 3-1 vs. God's Conference in last few years. I thought Florida, LSU, and South Carolina were the faster teams.

Ask LSU and SCAR what they remember about Iowa

edit: florida too

I can't really argue with it.

The primary reasons I can list for loving Big Ten football are:

1) I am an Iowa fan
2) I grew up on it
3)....I just ran out of reasons

The SEC is more like Avatar...a high tech runaway blockbuster, cutting edge. The Big Ten is more like Blade Runner...not the wow effects, but a solid story line that you keep coming back to, even though its somewhat dated.
Nice way of putting it, Jon. I'll take Blade Runner every time.

I think every year people talk about how the Big Ten is down this year. At some point you have to admit it's not a great conference.
