Fighting Hawkeyes Were Tough Today

Great, great win for the Fighting Hawkeyes today. Unless you have attended a game in Champaign, you have no idea how much they hate Iowa and how tough it us to win there.

Huge win. The Hawkeyes showed heart, toughness and grit today

Illinois is bad when they shoot the ball the way they have been the past six games. Get this...the worst shooting percentage in College Basketball over that stretch. When the two freshman are two for three from three, Abrams and Bertrand are going off, well, it's no where near the team that lost 6 in a row...and in that building...well, tough to win...especially for us. On many of those baskets, we were playing good defense. They will upset some teams down the stretch in that building. I thought Illinois moved the ball well, and had some incredible assists. Give them credit...

In basketball I hate Illinois more than I do any other school in the Big Ten. Back when they had to cheat to land Deion Thomas.

They have been but in reality they shouldn't be as bad as they've played. I think they could be on the same level as the other middle of the pack schools in this conference.
 
There are no freebies on the road in the B1G. If you can battle thru what the Hawks did last night...it's a good win...and it builds toughness, something this team needs.

No, but winning a close game like this on the road will pay dividends later on....like winning a close game against a Michigan or Wisconsin instead of losing.
