Ferentz will be the Iowa coach until 2020.

In order for Iowa to get rid of Ferentz they are going to need to pay close to $20 million. THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Stop talking about a new coach and get use to this....

KF could get fired a few years early, but not right now. I don't think our AD would wait until the buyout was ZERO - a la "Tom Davis", if things stay this bad for several more years.

If things stay this bad for several more years, then Kinnick and the coffers will be empty. It could be decades before we recover from that. Lost generation type deal.

Notice the big if, though. I just can't see things staying this bad... there is young talent on this team. Things have got to get better.

I don't mind people talking about it but at some point you have to do something about it. I do think its absolutely crazy that people want the guy fired yet continue to go to games and such.

If you want change, do the following:

Stop going to games.

Stop buying shirts, hats, coats, etc.

Each and every person that shows up next week better be fine with KF as Iowa's coach. Otherwise you are simply part of the problem.

I have little issue with Kirk being Iowa's coach because I am fully confident that Barta would bring in a $750,000 a year POS from a mid major who wants to run the spread and doesn't care about playing defense and would basically run the program into the ground like Lick did the BB program.

Agreed. And I hope you're right about the future - but at this point, with the way things are, I can't bring myself to care about the results right now. Apathy has set in. I will continue to watch and see what happens in the next couple years, and hopefully re-ignite my passion for Hawkeye football. I'm just afraid that KF won't be able to bring Iowa back to the point of challenging for Big Ten titles again for a 3rd time (the first two being 2002-04, and 2009). Would like to be wrong..

With all the money KF gets paid, here's what we get every week for the last 9 years (minus the 2009 anomaly)

1)Zero inspiration---every week we are ALWAYS the least emotion, least inspired team in FBS. Apathy from the head coaches, assistants, players, etc. The ONLY people that seem to care are the fans (and we are rabid)
2)Zero GAMEPLANNING---every down of every game of every year it's EXACTLY the same. VANILLA, VANILLA. We are the EASIEST team outside of peewee football to prepare for. Our defensive schemes are so easy and weak, designed to never make a stop. Sit back in soft zones and let other teams pick us apart. Meanwhile other teams are throwing the kitchen sink at us every play of every week and our QBs and offense never get comfortable. We act like we are so talented we can just do the same thing every game and expect to win. Teams loaded with talent (Floridas, USCs, Texas', etc) can't even do that.
3)Zero adjustments---football is a game of chess, with adjustments and trying to keep the other off balance every play of every game. We are so arrogant we think that isn't necessary.
4)Horrific end of halves/game management(from clock, timeouts, and game planning)--We NEVER make a stop at the end of any half, and we NEVER score at the end of any half (just take a knee and leave). KFs end-of-halves management blunders are legendary
5)Close games--we ALWAYS get outcoached at end of, and lose every close game. Lost 9 Straight games decided by 3 pts or less from 2005-2008, and that trend continues on.

I'm ok with the above, as long as our head coach is the lowest payed coach outside of peewee football. BUT HE IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST PAYED COACHES IN FBS!!!

...and take the money you would have spent on those things and mail it to Gary Barta with a memo on the check that says "Kirk Ferentz Buyout Fund".
