I am still steamed that Iowa lost the "OK4P loyalty battle royale" with Northwestern, but now that I am going to be a cats season ticket holder, I want to reiterate something that you "Ferentz is god" Kool Aid drinkers seem to be missing when you go on and on about Ferentz being so awesome:
2006 (throwing out noncon because Fitz got tossed into job with death of Walker right before season)
Iowa 2-6 big ten
NU 2-6 big ten
2007
Iowa 6-6
NU 6-6
2008
Iowa 9-4
NU 9-4
2009
Iowa 11-2
NU 8-5
2010 through this week
Iowa 7-3
NU 7-3
Head to head - Fitz 4, Ferentz 1
Ferentz has THREE MORE WINS but has taken out 8 figures more in compensation during that time - and oh yeah, anyone care to wager which team has more arrests in the relevant timeframe? NU has higher academic requirements and materially worse facilities to boot.
I get it that no one wants to say anything bad about the captain, but for him to have three more wins than NU in that time frame given his salary is nothing short of unacceptable in my opinion and the same old "we need to tighten up a few things and we'll be fine" answer that he keeps giving to the media week in and week out after these unacceptable losses has to be replaced with some sort of action to remediate the clear weaknesses in the game coaching Iowa has seen.
