Ferentz Talks Critics, Combat Uniforms & Recruiting

"Has" is not a past tense verb. "Had" is the past tense of the verb.

To demonstrate: This forum has been full of idiots lately. (Present tense)

I thought this forum had been over-run with idiots, until HWKS1 chimed in. (Past tense)

If you have more grammar questions, feel free to ask. I used to be a teacher, and am comfortable opening the door to the house of language for all who knock.

Oh man, someone ban this clown.

Even if not intentional "has been" is an inference of past tense to me, showing that the speaker does not have current knowledge.
If one wants to illustrate current knowledge and the present tense why say "has been" when "is" is so much more accurate?

That's reading WAY too much into that comment. Believe it or not, not everything Kirk says is encrypted to hide an ulterior motive.

d00d, I poast in every thread, of course it's not surprise I chimed in. It would be surprising if I had a life, or a woman, or functioning male organs.

DooD,
When being critical of others, first check your own work. I don't give a crap about grammar, but I can make an exception for your pompous $&$.

LOL! When your trying to make a stupid point through grammar, it helps to make sure you understand how grammar works. I understand it, thus I am able to lolspeak wat ever I liek.

It's amazing they let you continue to bully people through the keyboard, clearly u were one of those kids in school who got picked on and is now taking out that frustration on a message board.

Since you are talking about past tense and all. Now that you are no longer a teacher and allowed within 2000 ft. of a building, is it hard to find a date? Hey you can't set them up and not expect someone to knock them down!

I was asking Ghost a question

I don't know about why he did but I was hoping someone would stand up for the fans and ask the tough questions and stay on him until he either answered or shut the presser down. He gets away with way to much of this type of bs. If enough of the press stuck together and didn't just worry about themselves or losing the chance to be Ferentz's buddy then weight actually gets some beneficial responses. If he cancels the presser, we wouldn't lose a damn thing.

QUOTE=SLarew;964648]Then why did you open this thread??? No one forcing you to read what Kirk said.[/QUOTE]

At this point, I would say that I am about as interested in hearing what he has to say as he is about what I might think.

This is damn funny and the truth. Listening to Kirk talk football is like listening to your dad talk about how to use a computer maybe they used to know, but sure don't know anything now.

How tough is it to use a computer? Click on the internet then type in "porn". Pretty simple.

I was asking Ghost a question

Well, if you look at the overall context of the quote, you will notice that the preceding and following sentences were in present tense, and they are both relevant to the sentence you are claiming is past tense.

Also, why would he say "I appreciate their support." if he, as you claim, was referring to the support as "fantastic" in the past tense.

Finally, has is obviously a present tense verb. It is never a past tense verb, no matter how ridicuolously you want to infer that meaning You ask why he didn't say is, as in "It is fantastic". My question is, if he were speaking in past tense, why didn't he, you know, speak in past tense: "It had been fantastic".

If you do not have a reply that will make you sound the least bit intelligent, please do not share it.
