Jaleel got crazy towards end...go into mode of getting back

Just try to reasure people..never know what smoke screens are being thrown around..just address the things that are getting thrown out there. Its not like it takes Dick Tracy to figure out what people say
 
Concern of component of social media, things getting out there, fans reacting to that prospect

I am not as in tune to some of that..the staff keeps me abreast of it..its like our own players, encourage them not to get on there. It's like a moth to a flame, however.
 
Drew Ott, when start looking at him

Reese gets in his car and starts driving around..stops in the Rockies..his car dealer, he deserves combat pay..he puts a lot of miles on his car...got on Drew early, encouraged him to come over...was at one of our one day camps and struggled...he is an outside guy and played TE and we asked him to be a DL at camp, not fun or fair for him...went with what we believed on HS film and a good hoops player...so we felt good about whole package...take that one day of camp and throw it out..high upside...growth to make in years ahead...

Go back and look at Klug 210, mattison and iwebema 218, all three played well for us...Drew and Daumantas fit that...great work ethic

It would be awesome if KF came out and actually said MSU coaching staff :)
 
Regional or position with coaches?

Both...make sure players are familiar with staff..I only get one crack on a home visit...it helps us get to know prospects better
 
Curry recruitment, did that get tough with Rick to Nebraska?

I dont think so..it because clear to me, after December, it was time for us to move on..that was how I saw it..that is recruiting, keep moving..worry about the ones you get

Yeah we got both of them. Most recent was Draper...you get closer to signing, they clutter their minds sometimes but that was fair

Hard not to get too wrapped up when a kid commits late?

harder on the kids..not that its not on us, but I tell recruits early that it's hard to tell adults that have treated them well, no not coming. That is hard...if a guy can take 5 visits, you have an 80% failure rate...we all know the game, we do it every year...can only make one school happy...recruiting is one time where a player has to do what is best for them..for us to pretend like we know is wrong...they have to figure it out themselves and what makes them happy.

All will compete.. that is a position, like a lot of others...in general, we are real young and will talk more about this next week..not many returning stars...open season..but that is exciting, too..we have told everyone on this list that chance is there to help an we are all for it...but a lot of hard work that goes into getting on field next september...Moeaki, Bulaga, guys that played at frosh work they did before they got here and after, that is what it takes...we have an open mind
 
end of presser..will have transcript of entire presser later this evening..there will be a presser next wednesday that will be more football program related..my guess staff announcements then to0

Hmmm....I thought it had been said before that he had done well at the camp.
