I'll give you a parallel in my mind. How do you explain us having 11 penalties in our second ballgame, I think it was. Pretty sure it was. We had three the other day.
I promise you, we have not done any drills on penalties. We don't do up‑downs, laps, when guys get them. Some people do, and some people find that effective. I don't know. But to me it's concentration, it's a mental thing.
We had no false starts up at Columbus, and that's a tough place for an offensive team to play. I think it's just a matter of you’ve got to concentrate your way through things. I know it's a fact we've been leading every game at halftime. It's obviously a fact that we haven't won every game.
Somehow, some way you just have to concentrate better. I think the solution is in concentration, execution, than it is doing up‑downs or laps, that type of thing.

Pretty sure he just means that sometimes numbers are random. Right now our 2nd half numbers are down just like earlier in the year our penalties were up. We didn't do anything to really correct the problem with penalties, the numbers just balanced out.

I got a feeling if we don't win atleast 3 out of the next 4 everybody is going to be calling fr Ferentzs head. I'm just like everyone else I just want to win but we haven't been doing much of that since 09. So what does everybody think about Ferentzs future if we don't finish this season with a bang? GO HAWKS!

If we were to win out then obviously his seat goes from being hot to being luke warm. 95% of the fanbase will have forgiven him for the past few years and there will be talk of making a run at a BCS game the next year (2014 schedule is just beyond weak). Of course with expectations can come let down.....

If he were to lose out, and we're sitting at 5 wins and no bowl game again, his seat is extremly hot. I don't see any changes coming, but 2014 is the make or break year. As I said above, the schedule is set up nicely to have a great year. If Iowa tanks again, I think he's gone.

Well most of that is the usual luke warm oatmeal response... but again some his responses. For being such a supposed "nice guy" he does come across as a brat sometimes.

I've heard nothing but good about the guy (from people who have dealt with him personally) but sometimes I just don't get him. The treating every like were stupid thing doesn't work for him... not at this point.

Ohhh quit your cryin. Ive made very few negative post since the season has started. Its not my fault that more and more people are getting tired of kirk. I have not created any negative threads and have started some stating what kirk and co have done well this year.

Anything kirk said in his presser is fair game........not much suprises him so Im sure he knows the best way to handle the media.

Please explain to us all how Kirk saying the 3-4 defense is unusual in college football is him making an excuse? It's a defense they haven't gone up against very often.

One thing I've noticed....Kirk is already making excuses, while not overt he's already trying to say that the 3-4 in unusual in college football

TRANSLATION- We're not sure we are going to be able to score because this an unusual defensive front and we struggle on offense for entire halves anyway, so watch out folks it's going to be a bumpy Saturady in Iowa City.

I didnt take it that way at all, I dont think he meant it that way, I was surprised to see wisky playing a 3-4, I think KF meant it as it is unusual

I will be very disappointed if we lose our last 4 which means a loss to a terrible purdue team and no bowl.

I will be ok finishing 1-3 with probably a win against purdue and we go bowling.

Finish 2-2 would be great

Finish 3-1 or 4-0 would be friggin awesome, 4-0 and I might hug and kiss my radio.
