Ferentz on CJ's injury?

I can't for the life of me figure out why KF would tell the media and therefore every other opponent of Iowa that CJ probably wouldn't be 100% healthy the rest of the season. To me, that would be like going on vacation and telling everyone (including robbers). You leave yourself vulnerable.

The other team can tell when a player is limited due to injury while the game is being played. IMO, there's no need to tell everyone before hand to allow opponents to possibly game plan differently because of the injury.

Was KF faking about CJ's injury? He wasn't faking in the Maryland game.

I could see that, one of these games he busts off a long TD run at a critical time when they least expect it.

Because he's not saying anything that is a secret. It's public knowledge at this point and is obvious to anyone doing scouting. Heck, the opposing teams probably have a better idea of his injuries while closing watching film than what Ferentz has told the fans. :(

It doesn't matter, anyone who watches 5 minutes of any game knows he's hurting. If KFz actually thought he had something to gain by being quiet about CJBs injuries he would shut his mouth.

Maybe a repeat of what Dolphin WR Paul Warfield, who was supposedly hurting & gimpy, ran by the defender. Sorry, I don't recall which super bowl.

No question CJ is hurting. But KF may be trying to bait opposing defenses into making a mistake by making it seem worse than it is. That's the optimistic take anyway. I'm more prone to think that he's just telling the truth, because he knows other coaches aren't stupid so there is no point in saying otherwise.

I didn't like that Kirk admitted they won't be running the boot or similar plays. Even if its true, he doesn't need to announce to the world. I'm surprised he doesn't say "our playbook is still our playbook and we'll run everything in it."

Ferentz always wants to help the gamblers put their money on the game right be giving detailed injury updates throughout the week. His admiration of Las Vegas sports betting professionals is well established by now.

<<The other team can tell...IMO, there's no need to tell...>>

Other than contradicting yourself in consecutive sentences, that was almost a salient post. Almost.

I know this post is tongue in cheek. Are all your posts tongue in cheek, thetrza? I wonder if there's a rule in college like there is in the pros to protect bettors in Vegas or Fan Duel?

Even so, an injury report for the whole season? Yep, that KF sure is an honest chap.

Erratic public Internet. Last two sentences translated means: Was KF faking about CJ's injury? He (KF) wasn't faking (about CJ's injury) in the Maryland game.

Kirk clearly had a bet on Maryland last week. They didn't even try on that 2 pt conversation.

He's never been particularly straight about the status of his players' injuries. We weren't suppose to see T. Smith until Maryland, yet, wait . . . what? he's playing at Northwestern? 2015 case in point.

Here's another 2015 case in point: CJ tried one roll out in the Maryland game..one. And it was incomplete. And was sacked how many times?
