This tells you all you need to know about JVB and getting invited to the combine. I'm afraid when your QB's top strength is the interview...that's not going to get it done with the NFL folks.
COACH FERENTZ: First of all, it was great. It was real positive for him. Any time you get invited to the combine, that's a good thing. I think James has made the most of every opportunity in front of him, be it the combine, what he did on Monday at the Pro Day. The interviewing part of things, all of those things, that's his strength.
You have selective hearing, or in this case reading. By all accounts, James did have a strong performance at his pro day. He completed 51 of 52 passes. That's pretty damn good even though he has prepared for that day for quite awhile. Just because Kirk mentioned his strong interviewing skills doesn't mean anything other than his personality is his biggest strength. Which is a huge plus to most NFL scouts especially at the QB position.
