Ferentz march 27th Transcript

This tells you all you need to know about JVB and getting invited to the combine. I'm afraid when your QB's top strength is the interview...that's not going to get it done with the NFL folks.

COACH FERENTZ: First of all, it was great. It was real positive for him. Any time you get invited to the combine, that's a good thing. I think James has made the most of every opportunity in front of him, be it the combine, what he did on Monday at the Pro Day. The interviewing part of things, all of those things, that's his strength.

You have selective hearing, or in this case reading. By all accounts, James did have a strong performance at his pro day. He completed 51 of 52 passes. That's pretty damn good even though he has prepared for that day for quite awhile. Just because Kirk mentioned his strong interviewing skills doesn't mean anything other than his personality is his biggest strength. Which is a huge plus to most NFL scouts especially at the QB position.

I'm sitting here wondering how well he'd do in the interview with a 280lb DT in his face. I'm thinking not so well based on last season. Now, I want you to know, there was a bit of tongue in cheek pulling that quote the way I did, but I enjoy people getting butthurt over it. And to quote you, "because Kirk mentioned his strong interviewing skills doesn't mean anything other than his personality is his biggest strength"...when your personality is your biggest strength...I'm thinking the NFL guys are going with arm strength and cool under pressure. Just saying.

So you post things just to make people butthurt. Got it. So you like to troll... noted.

James has no problem with arm strength, but I would agree with your concern on handling pressure. However, that is something that can be worked on with a kid who has a good head on his shoulders like James. He's smart, has a good work ethic, and is very coachable plus he has some natural talent in his arm. Hence, the reason many NFL teams will consider inviting him to camp or maybe even spending a very late round pick on him.

I am waiting for a press-conference at which KF will say something frank and revealing about the QB selection process, perhaps even admit his past myopia. Something along the lines of "It's not often where this happens, but we're going in really with a truly open mind." That's what it's going to take for this fan to know that a serviceable BiG caliber performer on game-day is certain to take the field.

Do Not Concur. Being smart and having quick cognitive reactions are two different things. Think of it this way, you can teach someone to run with perfect form, but you can't teach them to run faster than they are naturally capable. Same goes for throwing, jumping, etc.

Works the same way with cognitive processing - everybody has their ceiling. Considering the amount of years James has been a starting QB, it is hard to imagine there is that much more room left before his hits his.

let me translate the pc for you - thanks for your support, nuthin to see here, just keep on moving, thank you very much, bye bye

I get it.
I'm not even demanding any info.

I'm just saying it is a waste to read the transcript or any press account thereof.

It's more like this...............

"You know the deal so don't ask me anything serious and if you take exception to anything I say, you'll be singled out by me."

Didn't even read it.. Can't remember the last transcript I've read from Kirk, 2011 season? I do enjoy reading Fran's though. :)

You don't need to..If you read one from 10 years ago,it hasn't changed. Just insert new names. KF can say nothing in an hour..Master of it. Fran is very entertaining to listen to. I can't remember being any less excited about an upcoming fb season as I am for this one.

I would like for you all to see a transcript of an interview or conversation you had. If you think you are always grammatically correct and concise in your thoughts you'd be wrong. You guys will dig up anything to dis Ferentz.

I know one thing... if I see the tag FreedComanche... I skip over the post.

Freed has come around a little. He's still justifiably critical but he makes some good points. I also think he is able to give KF credit when due.

Now Outoftownhawk and Myth....junk...usually.

Freed actually makes good points, and it wayyyyy better than OOTH, or Myth. I don't think he will give KF credit, if things turn around though. I think he has laid the groundworks to credit the coaching staff if things improve.

I completely understand where you are coming from and why you'd think that. But I will have to give him credit if they do well this year. And even if I don't think he had a lot to do with the success, he still hired the guys that made it happen.

Yes, I have been very critical of him. Maybe even one of his biggest critics, but I'm not gonna ignore reality if they are successful. Heck, I HOPE I get a whole bunch of egg on my face this fall because that will mean my team is winning. Who cares if I end up looking like a fool?
