Fan Etiquette in the stands

To people that went to games in the 50s and 60s... why? I love Iowa as much as the next guy (not according to HN standards). But why would I go to see my university, and the Team I love get killed every weekend? I would much rather put resources towards making things better for the team.

Why? Those are like the perfect temps for football games. The 70s and 80s ( and 90s for that matter) are way to warm, and of course the 30s and 40s too cold. I'm thinking you just don't have a good grasp on what football is all about!

Another historical detail about this is that there used to be no stands at all. In the 1890s every man had to stand. Chairs were provided for the ladies. Season tickets were under 3 dollars. Around the football field there was only a track, and of course the baseball field on the north side. There was a grassy area around the track for standing. Would the pro standing crowd want that back?
