Fake Punt.

Not just brought up, but that it is basically the only subject. Bring the stats that discuss average success rates and compare Iowa's abysmal record and hold has *** over the coals. Ask him how he justifies his compensation in such a situation. Just plain take no prisoners approach. When he starts getting bristly tell him he has lost that right.

No media member, in any city, would do that and expect to still have his beat the following week. Lots of them would really push the envelope with their questions, as others have suggested, but no one is going to take things to a personal level with a coach.

timing was perfect....the stadium had settled down. there was a long lul. Sparty was slowing the game down and they went away for a long TV break. Just then when they were lined up, I thought...great time for a fake. nothing to lose....

and boom. it happened.

I really thought every time they lined up for a field goal they were going to fake it. Was kind of surprised they didn't.

Yeah, the left side of Iowa's punt team was bailing downfield every time. Just like Minnesota.

How many starters are on Iowa's punt return team and punt team?

What is the scheme to Iowa's PR team?

3 backfield MSU blockers and punter vs. 2 Iowa backfield rushers.

I dunno. Mathematically 4 > 2. Unless it's the new core math.

By my count, Iowa has had 7 fake punt attempts against them since '10. All 7 have succeeded. Could be overlooking one, but not seeing it.

If you aren't overlooking 7, you're doing better than our special teams

Q. On the fake punt did Michigan State do anything prior to this game that maybe led you to believe that they would pull it out in that situation?
COACH FERENTZ: Well, historically they’ve taken chances and special teams have taken chances, run fakes, gadgets, whatever, so that didn’t surprise us at all. We were aware of that. I go back to the field goal they had on the Saturday night game. Big game, where they go out there in overtime and got the win. So that was not a surprise, that part of it.
But it’s a good job on their part. We had a return set up, and they hit us where we were weak.

Ok coach. You just admitted that from their history you knew they took chances yet once again had your pants pulled down for all to see.

If this Hawkeye football squad were the military and you the commanding general you would be court-martialed for dereliction of duty and treason.

Again, he takes no direct responsibility. He very rarely does. He almost always uses "we" instead of "I". Jon Miller said this is 100% on kf. Jon usually doesn't criticize kf, so this means a lot for him to say this.

I'm assuming that KF wants to not have 7 fake punts converted in a row against him. So, with that assumption, I am also thinking that he doesn't know how to stop it. There have been multiple coaches in charge of sp teams and yet one constant, KF...Wide splits are dumbfounding to him.
