Extensive Recap with Quotes from BTN Show in Iowa City

It was Howard Griffith that you talked to @ BTN HQ, who reassured you about the O-line, wasn't it? :D
You referred to a mystery man in a previous post, and after watching tonight's Preview, I concluded that it was Ho-Griff with whom you spoke.
Do I win a prize for having such awesome powers of deduction? ;)

Not tellin

They are pumping the new fall primetime lineup,Jon. You gotta be getting nervous about a national tv gig looming large now. Can we call in during the show and help you out?LOL...

Dead serious when I say this; not remotely nervous. It's what I do, and what I have been preparing for the last 20 years. At the end of the day, it's just having a conversation. I've done something like it over 100 times on TV with the State of the Nations show, and over the past four years I have done over 1000 sports talk shows on KXNO, and the six years before that I was a guest on shows four days a week during the football and basketball seasons.

The best way I can equate it is asking you this; do you get nervous brushing your teeth? Now, if you are a meth head or hail from Appalachia, don't answer that.

I dont remember JH having that much quickness. I think he is in for a monster year. November 20th is going to be a very big day/night in Iowa City. Cant wait to see ESPN Game Day there.

It's not really relevant anyway :)

And by not talking about such things, that's how you have sources for 10 years

I get what you are saying but why does someone need to be kept secret for saying they like our o line? This isnt a rumor or scoop...its opinion

After watching it and listening to Howard I thought the same thing last night and he reaffirmed my thoughts that this is who Jon talked to when Howard did his "closing arguments" segment.

Guys, Iowa is poised to do things we haven't seen here ever.
As long as we don't get too bit up by the injury bug, it's going to be special!

Or Missouri!

I have a feeling McNutt will do this to a lot of CB's this year. I think it is more of McNutt being that good at WR then it is Hyde not being able to play CB, I'm not worried about Hyde.

This. McNutt is extremely physical (comes with being that big at WR). But the thing that has surprised me, both in the spring and in camp, is how much faster and quicker he's gotten since last year. His top speed looks to be faster, and he reaches top speed quicker than he did a year ago. That's the makings of an NFL receiver (and a good one at that) with his size and hands.
