Expectations for this year

If someone would have told you before this season, that the Hawks would finish 17-16(not counting any possible NIT/CBI) with a sweep of Wisc and Minn and a victory over Indiana and Mich, plus a Big Ten tourney victory - would you have been happy with that?

Yes. For this year. But today's game was just a painful reminder of exactly how far (talentwise) we have to go. Good recruiting class coming in next year though, so things will improve.

I was just talking to my friend about this. I feel they have MET my expectations. Which is not a bad thing. Would love to have had them exceed them, at one point I thought they were. But...the full body of work, they have met them.

And I'm not upset about that.

Before the season someone put up a thread setting the over-under at 16 or 16.5. Pretty much everyone said that was a perfect line.

Your question talks about the good wins. What would happen if you used the same record, but listed the bad losses?

Basically, the Hawks lived up to people's expectations, which, with the exception of Jon's ridiculous 20 win thread, were very measured.

I thought 16-18 wins would be fine...and I'm good with that. We were very competitive with the league except for OSU/MSU and thats a step in the right direction. I am VERY displased with barta's decision to forego the CBI. He has cheated the players and the fans out of more Iowa basketball and I thnk that is contrary to what he is supposed to do.

Yes. I'm happy. I predicted 17 wins at the beginning of the year....It didn't look good in the non-conference season, but they got there.

I'm hoping we can overcome the loss of Gatens and keep moving forward next year.

Woodbury will be terrific if he builds up his body and stamina
