Jones, who was introduced at a press conference Thursday, played a season with the New Jersey Nets in 1989-90 before spending the bulk of his career in France and Italy.
Jones, who played for Mr. Davis Davis at the University of Iowa where the Hawkeyes reached the NCAA tournament quarter-finals in 1987, said he wants to field a team that plays up tempo at both ends of the floor.
“I want us to play the type of style I’m most comfortable with,” Jones said.
“That’s fast break and pressure defence.
“I want athletes on the perimeter. Players who can play multiple positions, who are interchangeable, and can play defence.”
