That's true. He isn't a registered sex offender. I didn't catch that.

As much as I believe Everson deserved more punishment than he got, I can't say I disagree with the legal decision either. The prosecution absolutely tanked this case.

The media is still terribly disappointed in how this case turned out. They wanted Everson in prison for life and Ferentz somehow implicated. Forgive them if they can't help themselves on the misleading title.

Eh, the prosecution didn't have a lot to work with. Their biggest mistake was not pleading it out before trial but I don't know how the media would have reacted to that.

I'd like to think that Karma will eventually catch up with Mr. Everson.

Eh, the prosecution didn't have a lot to work with. Their biggest mistake was not pleading it out before trial but I don't know how the media would have reacted to that.

It sank whatever case they had when their star witness (who they did cut a deal with) was essentially called a liar by the prosecutor after he finished testifying.

The woman that was assualted and her family did everything they could to make the case harder to win a conviction. They consistently went against advice and did their own thing.

Johnson County Attorney, Anne Lahey, deserves the scorn for the way she handled this case.

It's hard to determine how a HS recruit acts after he leaves the nest. I hope we can learn from this situation. I think when a recruiter is recruiting a HS player, He needs to look at the family of the player. Are the mom and dad good parents? Is his older siblings good citizens after leaving home? Is he a good student in school and stays out of trouble? If these questions are answered in the positive, I would pick him over a 4 or 5 star recruit that had negatives.

Your right but I would rather take my chances with a kid from a good situation than one from a negative situation. There can be exceptions ( Hubbard ), the program is at or near bottom and we need to take a chance. In football, our program is in a good situation and we don't need to take unnecessary risks.
