He makes a good case for Turner. Turner does have a ''perfect storm'' type of deal at OSU,tho....as he indicated, a good supporting cast, who totally defer to him, and a coach who is willing to ride him, putting the ball in his hands so much...and a offensive system that basically just gives him the ball in a spread floor and lets him make the decision on the drive and kicks or score.
I have been following him since Tony was a senior at St Joes, and Evan was in that soph class starting with McCamey(Ill.) and junior Jon Peoples(ND)... this was a stunningly talented HS team, yet, they were stymied by Simeon and Derrick Rose two years in a row in regionals...of course Simeon won the state title both years.
I find it interesting that even as a soph, a prep bb writer in the trib referred to Evan Turner as a Scottie Pippen-type player...and that in that Big Ten Journal segment featuring Turner back in his home town, his mom said Evan and his older brother were always MJ and Scottie in the back alley playing ball shooting at the edge of the roof of the garage with no rim. No doubt who was Scottie, even back then as a kid..and really, he reminds me of Scottie now...go figure.
