Ethan Grunkmeyer...

Here's all of his experience in college football.

Couple ways you can look at this...

He's never seen a real defensive line. Ever. Iowa for all it's faults has the 5th ranked rushing defense in all of college football. Now that has to be taken into context with our opponents so far, but Iowa has a ridiculous d-line no matter how you stack it. So...he's getting thrown right in the depths of hell with no way to prep for it. PSU can practice it all they want, any way they want...but Kinnick + night game + QB still in diapers <> a good thing. He will experience things that give him nightmares whether they win or lose. Graves, Hurkett, and Llewellyn will be in his head that whole plane ride.

Iowa's secondary is terrible. If the Hawks can win the LOS and put a few panic attacks on Grunkmeyer that should effectively shut down the pass and allow pressure from LBs. PSU's OL has not been great so far, obviously. There could not be a better scenario for Iowa's secondary.

PSU obviously has to sell itself out to the run and there's going to be a lot of sweeps and reverses. Contain that, they have a shot at this. Fail to contain and it's probably game over.

PSU's rushing defense is 70th in the country.

On paper, this should be a blowout. But, remember...all that expectation crap is for the birds. This is likely going to be decided by 3 points in the 4th quarter and come down to something dumb like a PI call or missed chip shot no matter which team it is.

Also, PSU has 3 other QBs on their roster.

Two sophomores and one freshman, none of whom have ever registered a snap in a college football game.

This should be a real fun game. All I'm asking is that Iowa show up and play as hard against Penn State as they did against Indiana and Wisconsin. The effort and enthusiasm were there in those two games. If they can do that again, then I am comfortable with whatever result we get.

And the fans need to bring the noise and intensity as well, just like the Indiana game. I think they will.

Iowa needs to play loose and aggressive. I think they will.

Order chicken strips instead of a steak one time and you'll have the whole season paid for.

I mean, I can have the steak and pay for peacock too.
But I'm making my stand.

I'm going to poke my fingers in their chest and show them this isn't going to work. This pathetic attempt at customer acquisition. In fact, they're making me so mad I might stop watching reruns of The Office. And at that point, my consumption of NBC material will have gone from hours back in the day....(The Tonight Show with Johnny, Tom Brokaw, Saturday Night Live, St. Elsewhere, Cheers, ER, Friends, The Office, Seinfeld) to.....zero.

No. Seriously. Screw them. If they would immediately dump their broadcast network, I would think about it. Let someone else give it a run.

If it makes you feel better, my gf and I have decided to stop buying beef. We could both afford to buy as much beef as we want but for the price of pork and chicken we're boycotting.

I can smoke and vacuum seal 10 lbs of pulled pork for $1.76/lb and I'd rather eat that than anything made out of ground beef or a steak if I'm being honest. I don't miss it a bit.

It's the same as Peacock. Beef's enjoyment threshold doesn't equal the asking price anymore for me.

They will lean heavily on the run. They know that and we know that. If Phil can get our defense to limit the run (I don't think we shut it completely down), that will force Grunkmeyer to make some plays. They have two excellent running backs so this won't be an easy task.

Cheers is my all time favorite show.

I bought the series on DVD back right before streaming became huge and then regretted it once it came on Netflix. Eventually it dropped off so I didn't feel as bad.

A couple months ago the entire series was on Fandango for $35 so I snagged it. I don't even have a DVD player anymore. It goes on sale at Fandango every few months, you should keep an eye out. Otherwise the cheapest spot for it is Amazon but it's $18.95 per season.

I own 3 TV shows on DVD.
Well, 4. But 4 gets an asterisk.

-LOST (because it was the greatest ever).
-Ark II (it was my first foray into my favorite genre ever....post apocalypse)
-Wonder Woman

I had a huge thing for Lynda Carter. Who am I kidding? I still do. She is the smoke show to end all smoke shows. Yes, I know I was 5 when that show was on. Yes, I fully remember realizing that when she got out of the pool after competing on Battle of the Network Stars that her bathing suit had become nearly fully transparent. Nature is going to do what nature is going to do.

The asterisk is....Dawson's Creek.
So, remember, this was in that window of pre-on demand and but post VCR, so I had no way to record. When my second kid was born and I took time off work, they were showing a rerun of the final season in the afternoons. It didn't air in primetime anymore. I dunno what happened. I got hooked. It was bad. I had to go back to work like two episodes before the finale. My wife got me the final season for Christmas so I could find out who Joey wound up with.

Don't tell anyone about that. I'd like it to remain a secret and wouldn't want anyone to know.
