ESPN's Gruden's QB Camp - Pryor Tonight 8 CT

What does being an All-American have to do with knowing your school's fight song lol? Just thought it was a convenient place to toot your own horn or what? I played D3 ball, and I knew our school's fight song. As far as I know, most of us knew it. It's not like it was an assignment to learn the fight song, but when you spend 3-4 years in athletics at a University you usually pick it up. Some coaches probably put more emphasis on it than others I suppose. Ohio State is a school rich with tradition. I guess I just find it strange that he wouldn't know it but I suppose I should consider who we're talking about here.

I played in college and, athletic honors aside, was a team captain, two year academic all-american, graduated in the top 10% of my graduating class, graduated summa cum laude, and have undergraduate and graduate degrees. I couldn't tell you one word of our fight song. You tell me, am I an idiot? That being said, Pryor likely is...

(consider own horn tooted) :)

Maybe we should change the thread title to "Here's a Chance to Toot Your Own Horn". I'm glad you did, I hope it made you feel proud. Again, none of that stuff has anything to do with knowing your fight song.

I suppose some schools utilize their fight song more frequently than others. I didn't sit down and study our's, I just picked it up after hearing it so many times. Honestly, I don't remember all of it anymore now that it's been a few years. I would think OSU utilizes their fight song quite frequently however. That's all I'm saying. Pryor's ability to absorb information seems somewhat limited.
