ESPN scores most-viewed NCAAs since 2004

You mean changes the dates so that they are away from the NCAA Basketball first and second rounds?

After I typed in my response, I saw your thread on Gables comments. Would hate to see them extend the season two weeks. Considering the toll that this long of a season takes on the body, they would need to start two weeks later.

Im guessing this had a lot to do with how many Iowa basketball fans were tuned into ESPNU for the Hawks NIT game against Stony Brook when the semi-finals of the wrestling would just not end.

You're welcome.

Most Iowa fans support all sports unlike the few that only support football and basketball cuz its the 'cool' thing to do. Pathetic really

Who would you be referring to?

Do you support all sports including wrestling, field hockey, gymnastics, swimming, softball, baseball, etc? Or just football, basketball and wrestling?

How much "support" did you give the basketball team during the Lickliter era?

I actually attended more games in the Lickliter years and will continue to support every sport at Iowa win or lose

Has nothing to do with coolness. It has to do with what a person can stomach to watch or is able to watch. I like basketball, but women's BB is boring. I love baseball, but I live to far away from IC to attend baseball. You couldn't make me watch wrestling, because it sucks in so many ways, is just disgusting to watch, and as a high school teacher, I can't condone what coaches make their kids do to cut weight. It makes me sick, not to mention the downward slide their grade does because they're too hungry to function in class. As for the other sports Iowa has, I couldn't give two craps about them.

Tell us how you really feel.

To each their own but youl'd be in the minority in Iowa.

Oh i see, so what you are saying that star basketball players don't suffer from grades slipping during the season? Or how about the star basketball player that has less than steller grades is allowed to skate because he is the "star" player. And don't tell me that it doesn't happen because i know for a fact that it does. i have known several players that it has happen to. i have also talked with teachers that have told me of the pressures of passing bball players. You know what makes me sick is people that put down a sport like wrestling with out even trying to understand what it takes to be a wrestler. Per Dan Gable, "Once you have wrestled, everything else is easy" pretty much says it all.

It sounds like you have more of a problem with a certain type of teacher rather than the sport of basketball, which would be legit in the example you gave.

It seems to me that the basketball only crowd is jealous of the attention (even as little as it is compared to the B-ball team) the wrestling team gets on here, and has to keep reminding us how much they don't like wrestling.

exactly. i don't really care for college basketball so i've visited the basketball forum exactly 0 times. i don't really care about it, so why would i? yet there are a certain number of wrestling haters (which is fine, to each their own) who come here and bad mouth the sport. but doesn't really bother me, they're just your typical d-bags w/ nothing better to do than try to ruffle feathers and act tough a message board. A group of real winners.
