I know it’s early but it’s fun to think about the possibilities. Not to be looking to forward ahead but that Penn State game is looming HUGE.

Yeah our 2 Off tackles are young and raw. By december they might be really good (I do not know if there are technique things on film that they are working on right now). I would be nice to have Kallenberger or a Kallenberger type junior or senior with experience at tackle.

I was also thinking what this defense would be like if Gholston and Nixon were still here, it could be amazingly tougher

I'll take a loss to Alabama in a playoff game over a win in the WhateverOther Bowl. Just getting there would be a HUGE accomplishment IMO.

But a long ways to go, just dreaming at this point.

"Neutral" to Alabama is Atlanta, Dallas, or Tampa. Don't expect them to come where there might be even a single snowflake or god forbid frost on the grass.

Well that means our defense can only give up 50 yards to Bama, lol.

The pessimism of the fan base here disturbs me.

I doubt it. Saban was difficult at MSU. At Bama? 30 points guaranteed.

Look at what Ole Miss was able to do to a good Iowa team. They just are faster and bigger than everyone.

If Iowa had a qb that was good/great? Sure. But Iowa doesn't have that this year. We can get through the Big Ten, maybe. But in the playoffs that recruiting advantage shows up, always.

Held Saban to 25 the last time the Hawkeyes took on Saban and that was good enough for a win.
