Could be true. Or could be ESPN recirculating Chip Brown reporting. Which may be true, or not.

Journalism is dead, trust no one.
 


Anyone else been hearing some chatter that Texas might look to steal Roads from ISU? Trying to get some of that momentum he has building over there.

Haven't heard that chatter, and while on many (very many) fronts it seems as highly non-probable, I could also see a case being made for Pawl from some higher profile institutions if he could put together a couple of actual winning seasons (beyond just winning a high profile game or two per season).
 


I briefly met Mack in the hotel elevator the morning of the Alamo Bowl in 2006. My sons and I were on our way to find some breakfast and he and his staff apparently were having a pre-game meeting in one of the hotel's conference rooms. Sporting an Iowa sweatshirt, I really wanted to dislike the opponent's head coach but he shook my hand, introduced himself to my sons, asked if we were enjoying our stay in San Antonio and wished us well. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Don't know if he was like that most of the time but on game day he had a friendly elevator face on.

He has REALLY looked "older" the past couple seasons. I have to believe the donors and other "Tejas" big-wigs have been putting on the pressure.

Agreed. Happened to Hayden towards the end, too, although I think there was far less donor pressure.

I don't see how they can afford him. Once they close in the stadium they will be able to build a new one out of $100 bill bricks. ISU network can't be far behind.

Crazy fact that I heard on ESPN on my lunch break- Mack Brown & Nick Saban are the same age, 62. It surely looks like Mack has at least a few years on Saban. So yes, I'd say he's getting pretty stressed out.
 


No way Saban leaves Bama for the TX job. Thats just my opinion though. But if they throw enough money his way I think its possible
