Addressed Iowas disappointing offense. Mentioned soft oline and Brian Ferentz future… wonder what snarky comment Kirk will have regarding others bringing it up on the national stage. They are getting after them and how Kirks son has to go, hate to hear it on national tv but at least it’s drawing heat and attention to the problem.

Saw some local Hawkeye show last night and James Vandenberg (who knows a lot about bad offense) was talking about the offense. He said that, other than TE, there isn't a position group on offense that stands out. The offense is an entire unit and you can't stand out if there is are weak links in the chain. Strong links can elevate those weak links to make them look good, but there are just too many of weak links. He also said that there aren't "better plays" you can call if there isn't talent to match the strengths of the defense. He wasn't necessarily standing up for or blaming BF, but he gave a good synopsis of the problems.

Gameday crew has had an underlying snarkiness towards Iowa football the last 5 years or so. I'm not sure how to word it. Drinking.

What else is there to be said then what they did? BF has to go. No two ways about it. That's step 1.

Step 2 is they gotta get the right hire to replace him. The O has to be more diverse and less predictable with some shot plays down the field mixed in. You can't play football just in the box anymore.

Step 3 is to be open to looking at more players in the transfer portal. If there's a QB that's available that's better then what you have be bold and go for him. Make em say no. In no way shape or form should you paint yourself in a corner with the QBs you have if they stink. Nowadays you move on and can't cry about it. Goes for other positions too obviously. But we missed the boat last yr by not trying to replace Petras.

Step 4 is the tougher one. How do you overhaul the Oline in one yr? Proctor if he maintains his commitment is a great key first piece to that anyway. As great as he may be will be firing on all cylinders on day 1 as a true freshman? That's a big ask no matter how physically ready he may be. But he'll be in there.
