ESPN / Gameday shouldn't talk about Rucker

The fact Gameday is at USC takes away any right for ESPN / Gameday to jump all over Rucker / Dantonio. Gameday should have been in Iowa City or Lincoln this week. This is just further proof that it is about more than doing "what is right".

Dantonio is a scumbag for letting the kid play this weekend. An absolute, no conscience, slimeball...perfect example of how NOT to be a good mentor to young men as their football coach.

The OP isn't denying that. But ESPN doesn't have any room to roast the decision at Gameday, as they chose to go to USC when they are on probation for major violations, thus giving them exposure and keeping them relevant. It'd just be hypocritical for them to criticize Dantonio, given where they would be doing it from.

I think that it is more of ESPN's overall philosophy of disagreeing with the penalties handed out against kids that had nothing to do with the infractions, rather than penalizing those that did wrong- both players and coach. Coaches should definitely be held financially responsible pay back some salary or have some sort of ban from coaching for a couple years.

I think they would rather treat them like NFL players and not the college kids they are. You are setting up a kid to think that if you play football then you have different rules.

What goes around, comes around. Dantonio will lose credibility. This Mich St. team is VERY overrated. Yes, they're undefeated, but even Iowa wasn't given this much cred last year with an additional 2 more wins.

BTW-Dantonio said that he left it up to Rucker whether he should play.....I mean really?
