Is ESPN ******* anyone else off? Lou, Desmond, Kirk, etc?? It's obvious they've been told to bash on the Big Ten because of ESPN's hate of fox and the Big Ten Network. I hope OSU crushes Arkansas. Every year all they talk about is the SEC and their speed, speed, speed. They were pretty quiet last bowl season. suck it ESPN.

ummmmm...maybe they just watched the Big Ten's epic fail on Saturday and that's why they're bashing the Big Ten.

I love a good conspiracy theory but the Big Ten is getting everything it deserves after what happened on New Years. An OSU win will help but it wont erase the 0-5 performance

It might help for Kirk, but I doubt for Lee and the rest

While ESPN is biased against the Big10, it's not like they're shooting at the conference after a 6-2 bowl season with a 2 game sweep in BCS games...if the conference wants the bashing to be unfounded, the conference needs to stop giving ESPN the ammunition to shoot at them.

ESPN dogs on the the Big Ten every chance they can get. It's a shame how the Big Ten performed in bowl games this year. OSU needs to win this game.

The OP does realize that Desmond and Herby are Big 10 guys, right? Fowler is honestly the only one of the Gameday crew that I swear is paid to bash the Big 10. He looks for any and all excuses to do so, even when it's not warranted. Palmer and James are SEC/Big 12 guys, so of course they're going to hate on the Big 10 all the time.

0-5 on NYD makes all the criticism/bashing credible. Which is why a credible analyst like Herby is criticizing as well as the biased shills that ESPN calls analysts.

Is FOX still trying to come up with a Pac-10 Network? If they are, I'd love to see how ESPN handles that...cuz ACC and Big East football's not going to get it done...

I've heard several ESPN guys talking about proof that the SEC is so much faster and better because of all the SEC players in the NFL. I did a little googling. I found this.

What College Conference Has The Most Nfl Players? | LIVESTRONG.COM

It talks about the SEC having the most players in the NFL. It says they the SEC has 263 and Big Ten has 234. But that's not accurate because they have an extra team. If you do the math for average number of NFL players per team it comes to SEC-21.9 and Big Ten 21.2!

Only problem is those numbers were from 2007. So I went to ESPN's own website to get this info on the players currently in the NFL.

Illinois -21
Indiana -6
Iowa -30
Michigan -33
MSU -25
Minn -11
NW -12
OSU -41
Penn State-29
Purdue -27
Wisconsin -22

That comes to 257 or 23.36 per team.

Alabama -26
Arkansas -16
Auburn -28
Florida -36
Georgia -40
Kentucky -11
LSU -45
Miss -23
Miss ST -14
S Carolina -20
Tennessee -38
Vandy -12

This is 309 and a per team average of 25.75.

So it did get a little worse for the Big Ten in the last 3 years but basically we're looking at a per team average of 25.75 to 23.36. Plus next year we add Nebraska who has 30 players in the NFL themselves.

The SEC is tough but to use this as an example of why they're head and shoulders better seems wrong to me, and makes me want to not listen to anything else they ever say.

Kirk and Desmond played in the Big 10. Holtz coached in the Big Ten.

The inferiority complex of some of you people baffles me. Who cares what these talking heads think? And for the record, the Big Ten has sucked so far and deserves everything that's being said.

Last year it was the Big Ten's redemption. This stuff all goes in cycles.

Relax, man.

Wish someone would tell them to explain Iowa's 4-2 (3-1 under Ferentz) bowl record against the SEC. Considering Iowa is at more of a disadvantage in recruiting and facilities to a lot of the other conference schools who really struggle against SEC.

You can hear the train approaching, and you can see it's headlight. So get off the tracks and be on your merry way.

SEC dlines and WR's are head and shoulders superior than the Big 10. Watch college football and you can easily see the Big 10 is lacking speed... has been lacking speed in comparison to the SEC for years now.

The Big 10 has a decent record against the SEC over the last 10 years but not when there best plays our best. Their best has owned our best.

They do bash the Big Ten whenever possible. If you dont see that, than you dont watch enough ESPN.

SEC will be 3-4 after OSU finishes The Piggies off. They will have 3 games left and could still finish 3-7.

THe Big 10 deserves what they get. SEC is making their FIFTH STRAIGHT BCS TITLE GAME APPEARANCE.

SEC IS GOING FOR THEIR FIFTH STRAIGHT BCS TITLE.

SEC IS 5-0 in BCS TITLE GAMES.

When you win your 6th straight BCS title like Auburn likely will you don't get bashed.... even if your conference has a losing record in bowls.

SEC is the cream of the crop in college football.

I agree

IMO it doesnt matter that a bad florida team beat a bad Penn St team or that Miss State Beat Michigan....what matters is what do conferences do in the biggest games that matchup their best teams. The SEC has proven they are the best of the best over the past five years

Do you think the Big Ten will ever have a team that finishes 2nd in a six team division, not go to the Championship Game, and still make a BCS bowl?

The best teams don't have to come from the best conference. I highly doubt that anyone would have mistaken the Big East in 2001 for being the best conference, even though that Miami team was arguably the best in college football history.

The SEC is also the most notorious ground for cheating, particularly in Auburn and Tuscaloosa. Oversigning, pay for play, anything goes down there. That's the biggest reason that the most talent is in the south.

If it's a top 10 team and the other division sucks (see: Big 12 North, SEC East), then yes.

Yes - this will happen.

Wait, isnt OSU beating Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl? THE premiere SEC Bowl Game??
