ESPN Bubble Watch

I wonder if that means if iowa losses out they are still in or if they are assuming more wins.

I dont really know. I can't imagine if Iowa loses out they are still in. Those would be some bad losses. I think the author just goes to great lengths to avoid taking any team off of lock status once they're on there. Errs extremely on the side of caution.

Good question. One would think there would be nothing they could do to drop back out again, including lose out.
Find that hard to believe though. Iowa isn't going to lose to teams the likes of PSU, MN, etc.

They know there are few if any losses left in Iowa's regular season. And putting Indiana on the bubble is accurate. Indiana will be safely in if they win some of their tough games down the stretch but they definitely have work to do. I want that last game of the season at home against MD to be a must win...on Yogi's Senior Day.

Maryland has a ton of talent. Maryland keeps winning close games. Maryland will be in the NCAA Tournament. But I don't get all of the national championship talk from the talking heads. I've watched Maryland against Northwestern, Iowa and Ohio State...and parts of other games. I don't think they have the chemistry, intangibles, whatever... I don't see them making a run unless they improve a lot.

Maryland just has a ton of talent. The latest NBA mock draft I saw has 3 maryland players getting drafted. 2 in the first round (Stone and Trimble) and Leyman early 2nd round. I think people say they're national title contenders because if they put it all together they are pretty unbeatable with that talent.

I see talent but I don't see a team. But they will be tough if they put it together.

Hard to say. Losing out only gives us 17 wins, but also 7 Top 50 wins. I'm sure they're assuming Iowa will not lose out, but it's hard to imagine a team going from a 1 seed to "out" in basically a month.

MD has talent, but it's also pretty young talent - seems like it takes a group 2-3 years to really learn to play together and find that chemistry. Guess that's what happens with teams that have fantastic freshmen. Tons of talent, but not a lot of cohesion. So while they are good, they would be far better if they all stuck around for a couple more years.

I thought it was nice last year when Iowa wasn't a bubble at the end of the year. Now this year accomplished that by mid conference season. Hell, Fran the man will win the NC in 1-2 years, if not this year!!

Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that Iowa would have a legit Final Four run in them? I thought they may be a bubble team at the beginning. This team is very fun to watch.

They are assuming Iowa wins a few more games. A 17 win Iowa team that lost their last 10 games would not be a lock to get into the tournament.

Then it better be this year, because next year is going to be a rebuilding year. I really hope Iowa finishes strong and gets a 1-2 seed..

It's never "easy" to advance in the NCAA Tournament, but anything to make it likelier to get us to the Sweet 16 or beyond instead of playing a 1-2 seed in the second round and going home. Really hoping for a Big 10 title and Final Four this year! Why not be greedy? Gotta relish these times when they are here.

LOL @ Clone fans looking up at us and being PO'ed about it. :p

You know whats crazy is that if the Hawks keep this up, this will be Fran's SIXTH straight year of improving upon the year before. I thought going into this season that he couldnt keep that streak alive this year and now it looks like he's going to blow it out of the water. A B1G title and/or a Sweet Sixteen appearance is all it would take, and at this point I think we'd all consider that a disappointment...whoda thunk it

Fran has yet to make Final Four of BTT, let alone NCAA. Calm down, sir!

That said, I never saw this coming into the season, and for those of us in Orlando who went to the Advocare tournament games, we did NOT look good Thursday and Friday of that weekend.
