ESPN Bubble Watch

So those teams listed, how many 300 RPI teams did they have on their schedule?

Look at Iowa State's schedule and resume. Very similar to Iowa's except they played one team in the 300's and five in the 250-300 range, giving them six total against 250+ teams. Iowa had five games aginst the 250+, but all of those games were against the 300's. Makes a difference of about 25 spots in the rankings.

Well there you have it. I would think the difference should be 5-10 spots tops. Thanks vol.

I have this hope that the committee decides this year, they don't really use RPI because they know it is stupid. They send a message to the country by completely ignoring it in their selection process, putting Iowa in.

I mean, it won't happen, but this is my hope.

Also, something not being talked about at all is how some of these teams ahead of us are playing elimination games between each other in their conference tourney. Some of these are contingent on beating a first round team and meeting in the second round.

Alabama vs Ole Miss
Kentucky vs Arkansas

And a couple unfavorable matchups
Baylor vs Okie State
Virginia vs NC State
LaSalle vs Butler

OK State, NC State, and Butler are not on the bubble. Alabama and Ole Miss won't play each other in the SEC tournament unless they reach the finals (they won't), in which case they would both be in the tournament. Also it's somewhat likely that Kentucky will play Vanderbilt instead of Arkansas in the SEC tournament. If Baylor beats OSU and Virginia beats NC St, all four will be in.

Maybe that's why it's not being talked about.

Sorry that was suppose to be Tennessee vs Alabama. The point of the last ones is that they have to beat good teams which is unlikely to happen and don't have the name power of a MSU.

Alright, it makes more sense now. So we're pulling hard this week for those three not on the bubble. I also hope Vanderbilt beats Arkansas and then Kentucky; hogs are already out, but that would bring UK down as well.
