ESPN B1G Power Rankings



Reads like he has MN there cuz he thinks they will make the tourney because they built their NCAA resume over a month ago.

MN is in serious, serious trouble.

What he said is all true in his explanation. I just dont understand what the non con schedule has to do with power rankings with 2 weeks left in the B1G schedule. I still think MN makes the dance, but Iowa is the better team right now.
 


And because we had Indiana, Michigan state, Ohio state, and Michigan very early web get the shaft. George from Seinfeld is getting very upset!!!!'n
 


I don't know how you can have supposedly current power rankings and still harken back to December for your reasoning...but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't effect me or the Hawkeyes all that much. Iowa still needs to keep winning and I need to keep loving every minute of this season until they tell me the season is over with.
 


I thought that one criteria that the selection committee looked at was how you finished out in your last 10 games. If that is the case then the Goofers are in serious trouble. Iowa on the other hand can finish very strong. December was a long time ago in the season.
 


I find it unbelievable that people think Iowa can go 4-1 down the stretch, losing only to Indiana, end up 10-8 in conference (which could put them as high as tied for 5th), and get left out of the NCAA tournament. I cannot drink enough koolaid to come up with a way Iowa can beat Indiana on the road, I am just hoping they keep it under 10 points. Is this really the only scenario Iowa gets into the NCAA tournament without a long run in the BTT?

Power rankings for NCAA FB and BB Conferences are so weak.. they are redundant and add nothing (get it?) No one cares. They make no sense... can I repeat that again?

Just as last week I ridiculed Jon's power rankings and I hope to ridicule this guy's too. First of all it's about a power ranking for this week which means to me who is playing the best and can beat the best.

Neutral court today. You think Iowa has a better shot at beating Indiana than Michigan would.

You don't know what you are talking about. Please step away from the computer.

Iowa has won three games in a row with a great shot at 4. Beating NW, PSU and a sinking MN team.

It's not like they have beaten anyone of note in the run.

Clearly you haven't been paying attention to NW if you have them 8th right now.
 


What does it take to become a bracketologist? Does it pay very well? How about a power ranker? Is that a sub-specialty of bracketology? Is there a lot of reading involved, or mostly watching tv? I'm thinking about going in to the profession, but I need to know - are their fees covered by insurance, or would I have to chase customers for payment? I'm not very impressed with those in the profession right now, so I think there would be room for me.
 


We're not far from Indiana statwise.I think we have a team that could give Indiana a run for their money.

Whoops... you right, forgot about Shopshire injury. Of course I pay attention, my point is power rankings are totally worthless and if you do them... show some moxie, check out the teams that are hot, or not. Don't just re-guigitate (vomit up) current conference standings with 1 or, at most, 2 differences.

Sheesh... any thoughts?

Show some moxie? So just make up stuff?

I like how you say Iowa is playing better than Michigan according to your power poll. Yep those great wins against NW (4 scholarship players left?), PSU (has not won a big 10 game), MN (who is in self destruct mode)...... Yep those three wins sure show how Iowa is better than Michigan.

I am sure Iowa could beat Michigan in a neutral court game at this time.

Your rankings make no sense and are stupid. NW is maybe worse than PSU at this point and failed to put NW in the 11 or 12 spot.

Yep your power rankings are great!

I agree, and I like your rankings, except maybe Illinois could be ahead of us and Minn should be lower (you could put them last: they've been outscored 138-75 in their last 72 min 57 seconds).
