Erik Campbell and Brian Ferentz

From a mutual friend (take it for what it's worth), Soup is very interested in moving up the ladder and becoming a HC someday.

Lane Kiffin at USC has had open coaching positions since the end of the regular season and said he wanted to wait til after signing day to fill them.

Has Brett Bielema announced all his coaching hirings yet?

Just checking.

A name I haven't seen speculated yet, but what about Frank Verducci (sp) as the OL coach? He also coached OL under Hayden and has NFL and major college OL experience (recently with Charlie Weis at ND and Florida). Plus, I think his family is still living in Iowa City.

I swear to you, I heard his name mentioned earlier this week. It came from a big donor but he didn't claim to know anything. Just seemed like he was trying to come up with options.

He wanted to talk to the Giants assistant. He could NOT do that until his season was over.

I don't recall any rules that say you can't talk to coaches on teams still in the playoffs.

Now, Ferentz CHOOSING to not talk to somebody, that would be his MO.

The football program is not supported by anyone's tax dollars. It pays for itself (and then some).

Now return to your regularly scheduled wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Not entirely. Don't the University provide utilities and maintenance for the program? Tax dollars are paying for a part of this.

HAHAHA LMAO. Ok, well then the football program should keep all Iowa tax payers abreast on utility use and maintenance done to football facilities. That has nothing to do with the coaches or any players. good one though.

No way FV comes back, unless KF wants another Kaz...

I try my best to be entertaining, Hawkfarmer. ;)

Aaaaaaand I think we've reached rock bottom here. I honestly don't think it can get any worse than this post. Things are looking up!

:)

a lot of this stuff is pure gold...

I work with teenagers a lot, so I am used to watching people try and rationalize the inane and pointless garbage they say, but the past day has been comedy genius. It is almost like people are trying to be caricatures of idiot sport fans. It is like the Onion and Stephen Colbert gave birth to a idiotic football fan.

well said.

Yeah, because everyone knows those are the rules...wait...didnt PSU hire the Patriots OC for their HC vacancy long before NE's season was over????

You do understand the difference between the psu situation and the Iowa d coordinator job don't you? If it is not extremely obvious I can't help you.
