Eric May is playing fricken awsome

He's been clutch and strait up balling. There isn't a player on the team that knows his role better then he does. Whats fun to watch about this team coming together is that they play as a team. If Marble has a tough go or White they are picked up by someone else. We don't need any one player to put the team on their shoulders cause they play as a team. (that said I can go without seeing Marble put up a goose egg or 2 pts again) The stat sheet for this game is amazingly balanced. For a game that you wanted to shut off after the first 5=-10 mins it sure was crazy to see it end up the way it did.

MAY DAY MAY DAY GOPHERS GOIN DOWN HARD MAY DAY!!!!!

What's even better, is his attitude. He brings an attitude to each and every game that you can see generate throughout the team. To get to the level he's playing at now is very fun to watch.

defensively he is a monster - and he is athletic as in when they thought they could throw an ally oop over him... no no

May, McCabe and Basabi are giving Iowa an attitude we haven't had in a long time. Did you see Melsahn jawing with that thug Mbakwe during the game? AWESOME

He has effectively given me the middle finger and then some, I absolutely love it. May has fully accepted his role and is maximizing every minute he plays.

I am not going to gloat just yet as there is a lot of basketball still left to play........ah what the hell.....MAY THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! Talent it takes a big man to humbly admit an honest mistake in judgement.

It's so awesome to see a kid like him do well. He has a great attitude and wants to help the team in any way possible. It isn't always the same way, but he consistently finds a way to make a positive impact in the game. Whether it's his defense, rebounding, or becoming a scorer when other guys are struggling. His play is picking up the play of his teammates and it couldn't be happening at a better time.

I wish the kid could turn around and play football for Iowa for the next four years. Is that possible?

this

and add woody and gesell to that list. yeah, woody is getting out-muscled by grown-*** men, but he's got some attitude -- you saw that when he went after that loose ball against mbwake. when he adds 10-15lbs, look out.

gesell doesn't take any crap either.

hoping this team refines the lockdown-hustle-win ugly thing for the stretch. don't crap the bed in lincoln.

He has gotten so many big late game rebounds that he has no business getting. Just so quick and strong to the ball.

He is getting rebounds you would not expect most people to come up with but really I would say he is finally rebounding like someone with his strength and jumping ability should.

he also seems to have focused on that and defense, letting everything else be gravy. he's always pushed and gotten in over his head on offense. how many times did we seen him frustrated after a turnover or one of his "dribble into the lane, pivot on the wrong foot, holy smokes what am I doing here" adventures? maybe that got into his head when it came to everything else.

he's fun to watch now. let's enjoy the games he has left.

Totally agree about Woody. He gets pushed around, but he's not soft. Right now, he's kind of that kid in school who gets beat up every day, but comes back ready to go another round every time.
