Eno hinting a new Hawk commit soon

Just saw on Twitter that Eno is tweeting that a new Hawk commit is on the horizon soon - love the fact that we have a high profile recruit in Texas that is helping lay the groundwork to possibly get other Texas recruits.

Would be huge to get the QB Fields, his WR friend and the CB we have offered in Texas - that would be an incredible haul in Texas and really re-establish Texas as a hotbed recruiting area, similar to what it was in Hayden's heyday.

Throw in the possibility of getting the WR Bell and the Athlete Heyward and the 2017 class might push the 2005 class as the highest rated class of the Ferentz era.

Love the work that Rob has been doing in posting recruiting updates - really adds a level of excitement to the off season.
 
Thanks, Nick. You never know with Eno. He's reaching out to Texas kids but also is connecting with Iowa targets all over the country.

As much as I'm intrigued by Fields and would love to have him, we need receivers. Young was the only one we signed in '16 and we have to add talent at that position. I like Bell and Greenwood a lot as well as Braydon Johnson from Texas. I'm hoping we can land at least two of them.

What is your opinion of Oliver Martin? I've heard some that really like him.
 
I've liked Oliver since I saw him play as a freshman on the varsity. He's worked really hard at becoming a better receiver and it showed in Chicago. He was the WR MVP there after winning the same award at the Don Beebe camp a week earlier.

He's not a blazer but he combines a solid frame with real good fundamentals. He reminds of Vandeberg but bigger.

Oliver also is a good athlete. He's an accomplished swimmer and a standout on the West baseball team. Iowa and Illinois State have offered him in baseball.

I wrote something on him in my roundup yesterday and have a video interview with him on Saturday that I posted. He told me that Reese Morgan and LeVar Woods visit him regularly at school. He's definitely in the picture for an offer. Excited to see how he does at Iowa camp next month. He's camping with quite a few schools, including at several Big Ten schools.

I did see your write up and saw the video. I'm rather new to his abilities so I was curious. But I am becoming a believer. Similar to my comments on Soko, if we land Martin and he's the "least talented" of the WR's we get, then we're set, because I do see Martin's B1G talent, now.

1st Post, thanks for having me.

I was speaking to a gentleman in North Liberty that says Martin is a freak, an absolute workout nut. Claimed he's the strongest kid on West's roster. Many will get a chance to see him camp, the insinuation was that Martin's parents have no problem getting him to an on-site camp every weekend.

As a side note, this gentleman is very close to Devontae Lane, who has been up to the UofMinn at least once in the last 30-days to run routes for the coaches. They are very interested.

He claims Martin is not as talented as Lane, Martin is just QB's first option (don't know, will be determined on the field, I'm sure).

While this is my 1st Post, please don't tear me apart, seen too much of that on HR. That's what caused me to cancel a 10+ year paid membership on the "Other Site".
