End of the tailgate season...

Lost in the bickering over Kirk's salary and possible (crappy) bowl destinations is the fact that the 2011 home football slate is already over with and it's not even mid-November yet. I look forward to football season every year mostly for the games but in a close second I look forward to the tailgating. We acquired an RV during the summer and had a blast taking it down Friday nights. We got to know some new neighbors and had some good times. It's too bad Iowa couldn't have sent us home with a win to end the year but the fun on the parking lot was still second to none. We already have some big ideas for the RV and tailgating for next year and I for one am already counting down to it. Go Hawks!

Maybe next season you'll step up and host the 1st Annual HN.com Official Tailgate.

I went to the game on Saturday and my concern over losing the game was almost entirely mitigated by the tailgating with friends.

If I had season tickets, I'm not even sure I would care if we won or lost.

Tailgating doesn't totally take away the sting from a loss but it does help a little.

It was a good season. Drank lots of beer, ate like **** and listened to everyone in Kinnick scream at the coaches. Typical year of Iowa football. Gotta love it.

I'm with you! We got an RV this year and got passes to the GH lot for the last 4 games. I'm gonna shell out the money and get the full season there next year. It was really fun!! Can't wait til next Sept.. Chicago and then home games all month.......Should be great!! Go Hawks

Yep. Visiting with friends and family is part of the experience.

Is this your normal avatar or did you just borrow someones? I thought someone else had this?

Yes, hard too believe 2011 home season is already over it goes so quickly!!! Look forward too it all summer and it is here and gone cannot wait till 2012 and another great fall with family and friends in Iowa City.

Vin, bring your liqueur collection. HFN, get a subway party sub. And me and OK4P will supply the entertainment.

I always bring plenty top-shelf booze. I would never show up at a bash empty handed. I'm not some low class Webster County prole.

It is hard to believe tailgating season is over. As a season ticket holder, I always enjoy Saturday's in Iowa City. Of course, it is a heck of a lot more fun when we win but nonetheless, nothing beats tailgating on Saturdays in Iowa City.
