Ellingson Question

I remember the threads about Jok...can't play defense, etc. Jok did nothing as a freshman and had no idea how to guard anyone. He put on some muscle this year and plays pretty good defense. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that Ellingson can't play, shoot, etc. just yet.

If you want to make a comparison for Brady... It's not Jok.

And speaking of comparisons, that's probably one thing that's working against Brady from a fans support perspective... We just went down this road with Ogelsby but I stand behind my previous points.... Other guys have more upside and can bring more value in other aspects of their game so if Brady can't come in and be the sharp shooter, which he failed to do... There's no value.

Yes, it is Jok. People wrote him off before he even had a chance to do anything. Ellingson is not Oglesby. Oglesby had horrible form. Ellingson has great form. Two years from now when he looks more like a man than a high school kid he could be a very good player. I'm not comparing skill sets. I'm showing how far a kid can come in 2 years.

There may be some truth to Bradys shooting form being better than Ogelsby but they both share the inability to get open because they lack atleticsm and that's the true problem.

Jok never lacked athleticism... More effort and probably bball IQ.

I thought Ellingson was a difference-maker, and I was wrong. Iowa doesn't need another "project" who doesn't immediately produce from outside. I doubt Iowa will suggest he transfer, but he may come to that decision himself.
