key difference between chaney and hinkel...chaney faster, but hinkel could actually catch the ball. chaney was fast but it didnt matter because he had hands of stone.

And everyone knew he couldn't catch, so when he was in the game, every defense knew the end around was coming so his speed was pretty worthless to the team.

Davis likes receivers who are quick,and get early separation on those short patterns,I believe. These two guys fit that profile. Last years WR recruits seem like taller,long striders,similar to Marvin McNutt. Maybe a good mix of both?

A lot of WRs over a 2 year period makes it obvious that they are working hard to upgrade the position and will find guys with better speed, etc. We also might have enough personel to mix in and create mismatches using size or speed according to opponents, 4-5 receiver sets, etc.

Iowa needs speed at WR. It's a definite need. Everyone knows this.

The new OC has expressed concern with the WRs already so far, so it's no surprise we are getting some receivers who better fit his system.
