Edit: OFFICIAL Brown/Iowa game thread

Marble stats unofficial 11 pts, 7 rbs, 4 assits and 3 steals not bad for a kid that can't play, nor improve, no matter who the competition that damn fine BB play
Basabe 14 pts and 12 rbs, that is what we need night in and night out
Brommer not that good at the FT line 3-6 but still had 9 pts

Good stats but after watching that game I am not any more optimistic than before the game. Brown is epicly bad

True. But, this might get Mel some confidence.

After watching Kentucky UNC, the talent gap between them and Iowa is enormous. You kind of forget until you watch a game like that. Moreso than football, talent wins games. Iowa does not have enough of it - yet. The guys they're bringing in next year will help a lot. I'm still positive about McCaffery and the steps he's taking the program.

If Iowa wins out in non conference at Uni, at ISU, beats Drake , central arkansas and Boise State.

Then goes 6-12 in conference play it still has a winning record. at 16-15

No reason to lose hope just yet.

IF we somehow won out nonconference, I would expect more than 6 conference wins. Wins at UNI and ISU would indicate to me that we are much, much better than we've been. Hell, as bad as we've been I still expect more than 6 conference wins. I think 16 wins total is a good barometer... Anything above that would be amazing, but anywhere in the 14-16 wins range represents a substantial improvement over last year, so I'll take it, especially with the last two weeks of garbage.

Unlike some of you, I actually am pretty pleased with the game today. I know Brown was bad, but they had good three-point shooting stats coming into the game and we guarded that well. It was also one of the first games in a while that we held the other team's best player in check. Finally, everyone on the team looked like they were in rhythm and giving great energy throughout. Even in the first three blowout wins that wasn't really the case.

except we are going 2-3 at best the rest of the non con season

at one point they had 8 asist on 10 made baskets
they played better, kept the leading scorer in check he even fouled out
the downside is a little used reserve led all scorers with 17 points
the team shot 42% for the game not earth shattering but better than 24 % for the game
it leaves room for improvement for the next game
i will take this win as a positive
