Personally I'd love the Big Ten to totally clean house and dump all of these old, biased dinosaurs and install a new cadre of officials that can actually keep up with the players. Long overdue.
 
There was a time when I was glad to hear Hightower was officiating our games. He was very good IMO. That time was at least 10 years ago because I have cringed every time he's done an Iowa game for a long time.
 
For the record, I most despise Hightower for the way he makes a show of himself. That's not to say he blows tons of calls, like Valentine and Burr do. Hightower is a good official when it comes to making the right calls. It's HOW he makes those calls that irks me.
 
It is about damn time. He has been sticking it to the hawks for thirty years. Now lets get rid of Burr and Valentine.
 
Eddie got in the way of Eddie on the court. It really is sad how full of himself he got, he used to be a really good official.

He's a pretty poor official in terms of his positioning, interpretation of play and consistency. His showmanship is simply crappy icing on a moldy cake.

Saw Burr at the NIT. He is even older and poorer as an official in person. As someone else posted, the B1G needs to clear out some of the deadwood in its officiating ranks.
 
The fact that sooo many fans not just Hawk fans know who he is tells you all you need to know. I used to not pay much attention to who the officials were. The last ten yrs or so I have and good god you pretty much know what your getting with alot of em going in. Mostly it's inconsitancy. Hightower had to stop a game at least once to check the monitor about some more then obvious call and drag it out for his own face time it seems like. Then he'd be sure and explain it to both coaches for 5 mins before putting the ball in play again. Not going to miss him...
 
I agree. The BoneG needs to change it up. They had crews that would change the game from football to a tickle fight throughout the game. Players had no way to tell how to play. It happened to all teams.

I just dont care to watch a crew control outcomes of games because they decide to change what a foul is in the later part of a game.

Too bad I cant get duffs side of the story.
