Okay, you insider guys who remind us we don't know jack about what happens in practice, need your insights

Who we gonna get?
Who do we have who might flip elsewhere?
Who might we flip to Iowa?
Where's the best place to buy a trampoline to learn how to flip?

I'll throw out some names
Tomari Fox? gone?
David Bell? j/k
Keith Randolph?
Jacardia Wright? (i assume he ends up at IWCC)
Kobe Myers?
Larry McCammon?
Maybe a DE from IWCC?

I believe everyone committed so far will sign early. A possible flip elsewhere is Jacobs. Not sure on who we might flip. I wish we would offer Darien Porter. I don’t think we’re recruiting Fox any longer. Bell is an extreme long shot.

If Jacobs didn’t run as fast as he could from that train wreck in Columbus then he can have them. He can get exposure either place and I like Iowa’s chances of keeping him as OSU is a mess

Do we have any head-to-head recruiting battles with Illini leans or verbals right now? If so, that beatdown yesterday might influence them.

Hope to God they find a punter who can actually punt

We may have one in Gersonde, but there's no way for us to know when the coaches insist on playing the worst punter in D1.
in fairness...…..rastetter was doing well at the beginning of the season, he's kinda falling off when the hawks fell off, during that penn state game. he was actually really doing well, consistently punting it inside the 20, most of the season til that point. This is a place to insert the customary kirk stays with guys who fall apart too long, comment however.

Rastetter's early success was largely situational. Put a punter deep in his end of the field and you find out how good he is. We have...and he ain't.

CR's capable punting during the earlier part of the season came when he kicked away from the returner and "rolled" the ball deeper into enemy territory. He was pretty darn effective. Next, and I read this somewhere, teams started putting two returners back deep; then, they started to get some decent returns via stops on the "roll."

CR did not punt much against ILL, for obvious reasons. He kicked in a traditional style on 2 that I can remember, neither of which was great. More interesting is that he took more time in punting rugby style on the one occasion he used it. He managed to read the return guy and had a 44 yard punt with a good roll.

I am not saying CR is a great punter. But, he showed great improvement over last year's punt game. The scouting caught up with him, but it appears that he has been coached up to try to get back to better distance.

I saw where we got a commitment from DE Nick DeJong. Dont know if he’s a grayshirt, or any other colored shirt or a preferred walk-on.

It appears as of now he is a walk-on. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him bumped to a ship next August. The staff has been masterful at convincing talent to walk-on.

I tend to agree the punting thing may be over-played. I can't remember anyone returning a punt for a TD this year. We got that going for us.
